I am so sorry to hear of your beloved Brian. Our thoughts are with you.
Dear Rosemary, Laura, David, Robert and Brian’s grandchildren and family.
It is with deep sadness that we learned of Brian’s recent passing.
Brian was such a kind, caring person and a true gentleman in every sense of the word and each and every time we met him he had a warm smile and kind word.
We are so grateful to have had him as such a wonderful neighbour and friend and he left a huge impression on all of us in # 27.
He was a constant source of support, kindness and strength which he carried out in his quiet and non intrusive way.
We greatly valued his advice, guidance and friendship both while my parents were alive and also the support you both gave to us around their funerals and since.
We will always be thankful for the compassion and care Brian gave so freely.
Our thoughts are with you all at such a deeply sad time.
May Brian be welcomed warmly in the Kingdom of Heaven where he will joyfully be reunited with Elizabeth.

Our sincere condolences to Rosemary and the Cavanagh family on the very sad news of Brian’s passing. While the years have flown by we still have very fond memories the times we shared with Brian and the young Cavanagh family during your time living in Lambourn, Clonsilla. I had the pleasure of sharing his company on our daily commute on the then primitive train service out of Clonsilla train station back in the day. He will be sadly missed but fondly remember by his many friends and neighbours. Remembering his beloved daughter Elizabeth at this sad time. May he rest in peace.

Catherine , Patrick and Michael, I'm so sorry to hear of Brian's passing. I have wonderful childhood memories of meeting you all at various get togethers in Rita and Tom's house in Clontarf. Along with your lovely Parents , Joe and Eileen. I have a stand out memory of Brian , who was very helpful to me personally when I returned to Ireland having lived away for a couple of years. I was completely lost in the local employment market . Brian very kindly met me in his office and patiently offered me some great and very helpful advice on how to get back on my feet. I will always remember his kindness and his time he afforded me at that time. I hope he will be reunited with his young Daughter who he tragically lost . Sincere condolences to you all . I hope the months and years ahead will be kind to you all and help you through this difficult time . Thoughts and best wishes

I only met Brian once but such was the impression he made on me, I immediately recognised him in the photograph posted here.
I was introduced to Brian roughly 7 or 8 years ago, after he had hosted a dinner in the Tolka House in Glasnevin.
During our short meet, he told me he was involved in fund raising for the Meningitis Research Foundation, a charity I have supported for years, after my daughter & myself were diagnosed. I remember Brian talking of Elizabeth whom he & his family had sadly lost to the same illness. Fortunately, my daughter & I survived.
I was stuck by Brians humanity and strength of character as he talked about Elizabeth, a heart-break I could only imagine & emphatise with. When he left the Tolka House, I reflected on how lucky my family & I were.
Brian was a selfless man with a great sense of community. He was one of a kind, and I was fortunate to meet him in life.
May Brian rest in peace.
