I met Brian on my first ward as a student nurse in 1994 and he would always nod and call me Matron, which I found so amusing. Something he continued to do over the years. So saddened to hear that Brian has died. Patients really appreciated his warm smile and friendly chat. No matter how busy he was or how trying/ challenging the day was, he would always have a cheery "hello" and stop for a chat on the corridor or if he called to the Dept. The day was always brighter having met Brian He made a difference. He was so proud of you Deirdre and your daughter and son. Thinking of you all during this sad and challenging time
