Sincere sympathy to John and all of the O'Regan family on the sad passing of Brian . Very fond memories of Brian , he was one of life's gentlemen and a railway man through and through.
May his gentle soul rest in Peace .
Sometimes we can use the word Gentleman loosely in our conversations, but Brian did define the word, Gentleman. I have known Brian all my working life in the railway, but I really got to know him when I worked alongside him for several years before he retired. He was a great mentor to me and gave me great guidance and advise in my career. I loved travelling around the network with him because everywhere we went there was always a great welcome from colleagues, and a cuppa was always offered. The KitKat would always appear from his pocket and split down the middle. His love of sports and especially his beloved Dubs would always cause a bit of friendly banter and a good laugh especially when he'd be winding someone up. I used to try and catch him out with General knowledge questions, but he always had the answer. Anytime I gave Brian a lift home after work there was always an invite in for a cup of tea and some of Alice's bread & butter pudding.

Our deepest sympathy to Alice, John, Karen, Brian and extended family.

May Brian's gentle soul rest in peace.

Very sad to hear of Brian's passing. I first met Brian long before I started working for IE as a child in Killarney. Brian would often do barrier checking in Killarney on a Sunday afternoon, no doubt making sure his fellow Dubs would get home safely from the Kingdom after their weekend in Killarney and sometimes let me check the tickets of passengers under his watchful eye.

RIP Brian. A true railwaymen through and through.
