It’s with heartfelt sadness that we heard of the passing of dear Brian. He was a lovely kind, compassionate man who was a great partner for Gary. They are now together again and Brian is no longer suffering but at peace.

As a singing teacher, he inspired many of us and gave us the confidence to sing out of our comfort zone. I am so glad to have known him and am grateful to have met such a lovely human being.

We will think of you often with fond memories of visits to Fredonia, New York City, and the Cottage. We will always remember you at Joanne's during the holidays. Your kindness, your humor and your friendship have added to the beauty of our lives. We are so sorry to hear of Brian’s passing. Brian will always remain dear to our hearts as we were close to him in our formative college years. He sang in our wedding. Brian was always fun to be around and had a way of communicating his zest for life, appreciation for creative adventures, and knowledge of the personal love of a merciful God. May he find solace before the thrown of his Everlasting King.

You were a teacher in the truest sense, living with conviction, kindness, and an unshakable belief that we are here for one another. You knew suffering, yet you let it deepen your compassion, not harden your heart. You held both pain and love with grace, showing us how to do the same.

I am forever grateful for our friendship—the deep conversations, the love you showed my family, the steady presence you were when I was unraveling. You challenged me to be real, to show up fully, and I will always be grateful.

I take comfort in knowing you found love, that you walked the streets of Ireland, the place your soul called home. And I grieve that this world lost you too soon.

But love does not die, nor does music, nor does the spirit of a teacher who gave so much of himself. Your voice still sings in those you touched. Your fierce and loyal spirit lives on in all of us who called you friend.

Brian, I will truly miss our regular chats whenever we passed each other on the road. I regret not making it down west to visit after your recent message hoping to see me soon. You always showed such thoughtfulness and genuine curiosity about my life. I’ll cherish the memory of your mischievous smile and the laughter you brought to our conversations. You were such a staple in my aunt’s life. Forty years of knowing you, forty years of listening to your humor, forty years of laughter. Our most fond memory would need to be our road trip with you, Antie Chris, Chris and I sitting in the back seat just laughing and laughing so hard over your replies to Chris’s crazy questions, our dinners we made and enjoying our chocolate desserts. Just the best times and memories. The joy life gave you when you made your move to Ireland was quite evident in the way you spoke of the beauty and happiness you found over there. My regret is that we never did get to take that trip together to Italy but you will be with us there next time we go. You were definitely one of a kind. Brian and I have been friends from the time we met at Troy High School at the age of 14. Visiting Brian in Ireland has been on my bucket list for a while. Now I must visit and pay my respects. Rest well, dear friend! You will be sorely missed!

Life has its own surprising soundtrack and Brian made part of ours with a special symphony. He played his story with a love for nature, peace, faith and most of all music.
He wasn't only my Musical Director in Sheep's Head Women's Choir, as he became later a friend I'd see bringing a special joy and a contemplative smile to those days when we would randomly meet around the village or Bantry.
He showed devotion for his faith and held a special sweet place for his Gary. He was ready to speak in defense of those who needed protection.
He was committed to his choir and his choir girls, and he leaves us with odes we will sing in his name.
You will be missed Brian!
