Deepest sympathies to you Brigid and your children and family. Wishing you strength to get through.
Brigid ,I am so sorry to hear about John’s death .We are thinking of you all at this sad time
Dear Brigid, Laurie, Meg & Elsa Jane,
It has taken me a while to bring myself to write this note.
Your Tom , Dad was a very special, valued friend and colleague of our team. Always a smile, good wit and endless support. We and the PRII will miss him hugely. Every chance he got which was often he spoke so proudly of you all and if he had time he's pull up a recording of ye singing. You all did him so proud yesterday, it was beautiful and faultless. He was sitting up there with his mug of tea and Mars bar smiling down as proud as punch of all of you.
Take care of yourselves, he’ll never be far away.
Dear Brigid, I am so very sorry to learn of the recent passing of your beloved husband, Brian (RIP). Thinking of you and your family at this very sad and difficult time for you all. Kindest regards, Lorraine

Dear Brigid, Laurie, Meg, Elsa Jane, and Arlo (let’s not forget Arlo),

Today's service was beautiful, and I have to apologise for dropping my condolences in late. Had Tom (Brian) helped me, he would have edited my words and my condolences would have been in time.

What can I say? I am really sorry to hear about his death, and I don’t have enough words to describe what he brought to us in the PRII.

The first time I saw Tom wasn’t so much when I met him first, but his application to the PRII for work. I could visualise him before I met him. His letter and CV were perfect; to the point and succinctly written. Martina and I both thought he was the right man for the job before we even met him.

We were not wrong. Like his introduction letter, he had a politeness and grace about him that helped him through his first meeting with Martina and myself. We had our man. And I knew that I didn’t have to supervise the workload he was taking off me. He was a very safe pair of hands.
He fit into our organisation like a proverbial glove, where he brought his humour and told us many good-humoured stories about his radio-life.

He may be gone, but very much not forgotten. My thoughts are with you all.

May Brian rest in peace.

All the best,

Dulach

Tom helped change the airwaves and it was a pleasure to have worked with him.
Rest in peace.
See you on the other side, Brian. Safe journey.
On this saddest of days our thoughts and prayers are with you Brigid, Laurie. Meg and Elsa Jane. Tom was one of a kind. One of those people who when he called you "mate" you felt like you were. As Tom, he has been an absolute professional and as Brian, an absolute gentleman. The world is a much poorer place without him. RIP Tom. Thanks for always having my back and giving the right advice. Martin, Jenny and children.
Brigid and family, My sincere condolences to you and your family. Thinking of you all at this very sad time. May Brian Rest In Peace. Rachael
Deepest Condolences for the Johnson Family. May he rest in peace
I grew up fascinated by the seafaring life of the early pirate radio stations. Imagine my incredulity to end up meeting one of those ' pirate voices' and working with him for almost a decade.

Today FM was a dynamic and exciting place during my time there and Tom's was often the most sensible voice in the room. As befits a former sailor, he had a steady hand on the tiller and was confident in setting out a course.

Rest in peace Tom.
I've had the genuine privilege to work with Tom at PRII for the past fews years. A pleasure to work with and know. He was a true gentleman and such a great and sound colleague. I'll miss his help and advice, but most of all his good humour, discreetly told stories of the heyday of radio and a voice full of pride when he talked about his family.

My sincere sympathy and thoughts are with Brigid, Laurie, Meg and Elsa Jane. May Brian rest in peace.
Brigid my deepest sympathies to you, your children, John, Bernadette, the Burke family and the Johnson family. You are very much in our thoughts and prayers, may he rest in peace, Carol
A fond farewell, Tom. Along with the late '70's Caroline team you braved the elements, kept the Caroline spirit alive and made so many people happy. I haven't seen you for years but I will remember your smiling face despite all the difficulties you faced. Radio has lost yet another voice.
Deeply saddened to hear the news of Tom's passing. I had the pleasure of working with him for a number of years in KCLR and over those years we became good friends. His knowledge and passion for radio struck me from the beginning and we would often chat about his time in the early days up to where he was at that time. Loved those chats and listened with awe. He mentored myself and many of my colleagues while here and I still use those tips and tricks today. He encouraged me to introduce Cowbell Friday to the show and even when it didn't work, we laughed even more. I will miss him dearly and I send all my love and thoughts to Brigid and his family at this time and for the future. A bed of heaven to you my friend. Rest in peace. Your friends John & Lisa

Brigid so sad to hear of Tom's passing. Condolences to you and family. Great times were had in Sunshine (I remember well the first night he arrived ,to the Sands Hotel) and the ,mischievous sense of humour and creativity he brought to the station. The clever fun continued in Nova particularly on the morning of the raid. Then we worked together again in Today FM where his contribution is well documented here with all colleagues. Tom used to say 'wait until the new station starts' Well..lucky heaven. Thanks Tom, Great memories.
Sending our deepest sympathy to Bridgid, Laurie, Meg , Elsa , the Johnston and Burke family. May god give you strength and courage in the coming days. Rest in peace Brian.
