Aoife, we are so sorry for the loss of your dad. We have wonderful memories of great conversations when we came to stay over.
He greeted us warmly as we stepped into your home; I was profusely apologizing with the guilt of England on my shoulders.
Brian immediately put me at ease and made me feel very welcome. His warmth and kindness and understanding displayed towards us.
Brian always offered great friendship and support to Gareth , which we appreciated immensely.
It is wonderful when true friendship lasts; as with you both.
Wishing you and your family our love and support.
Duncan and Norma.

I'm so sorry for your loss Aoife, as well as Simon, Edie and Luke. Brian was such a warm, lovely man and I have decades of happy memories of him at the table having coffee in Bloomfield, stirring up the debate with Mum and Dad, and of course Orla. Rest in peace Brian.

Aoife - Our heartfelt sympathies to you and all your family on the sad passing of your beloved dad. Thoughts are with you. May he rest in peace.
I agree with Gareth. Brian was generous to a fault. We too were recipients of his largesse at his infamous Christmas Eve drinks in the merrion hotel. He refused to split the bill no matter what the size. That was Brian in a nutshell. Generous kind and modest. A true gentleman RIP ME
Brian was one of the key reasons of making me feel settled in Ireland despite moving over in the middle of a recession and without a job a for long while; he was always kind, understanding, patient and generous, whether it be giving us a roof over our heads and asking for nothing in return, or treating me to tea and sandwiches in his beloved Merrion hotel, where we'd sit and read the Irish Times together. I always admired how he treated everyday seriously, getting properly dressed and putting on his good shoes, even if it was to just sit at the kitchen table and read a book which was his favourite past-time. He always greeted you with a smile and warmth, and had a great love for animals and compassion for those in need which lives on in Aoife. Rest in peace.
I’m so sorry to hear of Brian’s passing. He was such a warm, kind and humorous person and I loved chatting with him every Christmas in Cowper. Rest In Peace Brian. My sincere condolences to Aoife and all the family. xx Eimear O’Connor
We will miss Brian so much. He was such a strong presence, and very life affirming. The last of a remarkable generation of McCormicks. God bless.
Brian was such a kind, humourous and interesting man. A great conversationalist, he had a ream of great anecdotes that I won't forget easily. May he rest in peace
Very sorry for your loss Aoife, Luke and Edie.
