In the recent past it has been often said that Dublin teams stood on the shoulders of giants. We have lost one of those giants. Brian Mullins was a colossus and a Dublin GAA legend. Whether in the blue and white of St. Vincent's or the sky blue of Dublin, Brian was a dominant force who inspired his team-mates. Majestic fielding, perpetual motion, clever and accurate in possession, and capable of getting vital scores – he was indomitable with an iron will to win. Brian helped light the touchpaper that reignited Dublin’s fire almost 50 years ago. It is with great sadness that he has left us but the memory of his deeds will live in the hearts and minds of Dublin supporters, and indeed well beyond the county lines, forever. Dublin GAA convey their sincere condolences to his family, former team colleagues, both club and inter-county, the members of St. Vincent’s and friends.
We send our heartfelt condolences to the Mullins family on the untimely passing of Brian. Both on and off the pitch, we will not see his likes again. A leithéid ní fheicfimid arís. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
I knew him a little from my time at Greendale. There is not much I can say except that he was some man. RIP
Deeepest sympathy to the Mullins family on the sad death of Brian a true legend. A true Dub and club man but always willing to help out another county or club and not looking for money My fondest memories of him are meeting him in The Old Shieling after the1974 All Ireland final- No Marty Morrissey or media and secondly at the 2007 Connaught final in the company of his and my friend the late Padraig Conway. Shortly before the final whistle he texted Padraig "ye have it at last" and a few minutes later we had won our first final for 32 years - great celebrations and nice touch Brian - typical of the man . R.I.P. Brian

To the Mullins clan, profound sadness and condolences. True warrior. Meet him on a few occasions, liked him for his straight fowardness and honesty of thought. As a Munner, did not have great fondness for him in his club jersey. 😀. However, it was a few words to my son, which exhibited the depth of his personality. A true legend with a nobility of spririt. May he go well and rest in peace. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam. Mors Immatura.
