Dear Tim, Sorcha, Fionn and Una. I am so sorry to hear about your Dad, our whole family had a weep last week when we heard.
Brian was Dad's best friend, and still called on his birthday and anniversary to tell me about him and how much he missed him. The pictures of Dad and Brian together captures the craic they had with each other, and they both demonstrated a deeply loving and authentic friendship through the decades. Dad was lucky to have a pal like Brian, and I'm so sorry they both had such a tough exit in different ways.
But I like to think of them now knocking back a long overdue pint( or 10 pints) together. XXX Sarah Byrne ( daughter of Alan)

So sad to hear about Brian's passing. He was a legend in Lombard /Lombard & Ulster, so genuine and entertaining in everything he touched. We will all miss him. Our thoughts are with all his family and friends.
Our heartfelt sympathies to Una Tim Fionn and little Georgia and all the O’Brien family on the loss of this wonderful man. He was full of fun and had such empathy with people. I last spoke to Brian in December, and as usual our conversation probably lasted about an hour until one of us started to cough! We would reminisce about the Lombard days and the laughs we had. We could never chat without his most amazing friend Alan Byrne playing a big part in our conversation. I noticed in our last few chats that Brian’s spirits seemed to have lifted considerably which was great, taking into account the trials he faced each day with all his medical issues. He was so proud of his two boys and then of course Georgia came along, the icing on the cake for him. The extra joy she brought was honestly palpable. Will always remember & miss you. RIP dear friend.
