Melanie, So sorry to hear about the death of your Dad. I had great time for Brian and he was a great help to me as a performing musician in his work as a journalist. It was always greatly appreciated and we used to have great discussions about guitar music during his time in Cork. We still kept in touch after your parents moved to Galway. I have fond memories of first meeting your Dad at the John Williams guitar masterclass in a hot Cordoba back in 1985 and I remember him storing a bottle of gin in the bath to keep it cool in his hotel room! He always had a great love for Spain. My heartfelt condolences to you and your family.

I worked with him during his time with The Echo in Cork and in particular on the weekly entertainment pages which was always a passion of his.
I have fond memories of attending his Gordon Lightfoot tribute events in the old Jury’s Hotel and of course his involvement with the Second City Jazz Band.
Brian was always a lovely guy and a pleasure to work with.
