Who knows if you can read this or not, sure none of us know anything about life once we get past our ignorant and learned human arrogance. I just wanted to write this to you in a public forum in case anyone else might take solace from it. My friend for someone who has no self confidence whatsoever, you gave me so much confidence, you never saw your effect on me and no doubt hundreds of others. I can't tell what you're feeling now, but I know I can write this and hopefully someone else can read it and come to the realisation, like I have, that they are of the utmost importance to someone else, and perhaps that is their place in life. I wish you could have loved yourself the way we all loved you, life is most certainly cruel but every now and then hearing how special you are to someone certainly helps deal with the anguish. I love you so much man, for whatever it's worth I'm thinking about and praying for you everyday. I've been playing your banjo everyday and am determined now to develop the confidence from within to play with other people that you used to instill with me. The brightest flames burn out the quickest, man your flame was so fecking bright! You lived a thousand average lives in such a short time, godspeed on your ultimate adventure my friend, I will love you forever, we all will love you forever and ever, you are undoubtedly the most incredible human I ever encountered. X

Dear family, friends and partner of Brian,
I met Brian in Auroville, India, where he did his internship building wind turbines. I met him in the water... surfing, and as he needed a board, I lent him one and we spent a lot of time in the waves together. You know how he loved it!
I remember one day there was a storm coming in and we had the most amazing waves ... we both had the best time surfing that day! I will remember him always... sweet, kind, courageous, funny... and my best surf buddy!
