Dear Mary and family, we were so sad to hear of Brian’s passing. We lived in Mount Prospect and he was a great landlord. I’ll never forget him taking time to show me around the area or his kindness popping in with cakes after we had our baby girl. We always enjoyed a coffee and a chat with Brian. My deepest condolences to the O’Connell Family. Brian was a great friend of my mums and our family for over 40 years. A constant support in so many ways, his positive impact was felt widely - friends of mine who had worked summers at Lableprint were saddened to hear of his passing - he will be missed and remembered fondly by many. RIP.

Dear Mary and family. I was sad to learn of Brian’s death. I remember him well as a child in Graigue. As we grew up we went our separate ways. When I met him again a few year’s ago in Renvyle we picked up the conversation we had some 50 years ago in a second and spoke of how much we had enjoyed each other as children.

Mary, Kate, John and Michelle, it is hard to contemplate BOC’s death. We will miss the fun that was always present when Brian was around. With his cheeky sense of humour he was welcome in any gathering. Always a man for the craic!
He had a generosity of spirit and was always hospitable. Indeed, it is fitting that our last memory of him was with some family and friends at lunch in The Purty Kitchen one Sunday in March this year, our last day of our visit home. Brian quietly paid for us all.
