Brian was my first boss when I joined CTT. He was creative, dynamic and drove his team hard with tons of projects so there was never a quiet moment. But there was lots of fun too. He was my boss again in New York and then again in Europe so his life and mine were intertwined over many years. And more recently on the Alumni Committee, not to forget a few times on the golf course! He was an influential colleague and a friend who departed too soon. Deep condolences to Lynda and Eoin.
Sincere condolences to Lynda, Eoin and all the extended family on the sad and untimely passing of Brian. Brian was by all accounts a man of many talents, a keen historian, a true Oregon, and a founder of the Oregon Cup to which he was a central figure. He will be sadly missed.
I was greatly saddened to learn of the unexpected demise of Brian. I have so many memories of him as a colleague in CTT all those years ago and of meeting him in more recent years in the Alumni association. He was in many ways a larger than life character. Brianne joins me in extending our deepest sympathy to Brian’s family on their sad loss. May he rest in peace.
Rest in peace Brian.
I was so saddened to hear of Brian's passing from Lynda last night.
We shared many great evenings together in Brussels and only recently met up and relived some of those extraordinary times.
Our sincere sympathy to Lynda, Eoin, Conor and extended family.

Brian inhabited a world of colour, which most of us rarely glimpse.Whenever or wherever we met, a little of this magic flowed and for a while we could share his vision. Now his magic is his memory. May he Rest in Peace.

Guess what? VERY bad news! What a loss!
Always larger-than life, Bryan, as I knew him, was a big man with a big brain, big ideas and a robust approach to life not always easily-digestible by those he considered, often rightly but magnanimously, ‘lower down’ his imperial food chain!
That said, and having ‘passed’ his piercingly-eyed scrutiny to get into CTT back in 1980 , which I’ve never regretted, I detected a wry, sceptical but not cynical, eminently human, even vulnerable!, sense of humour which he was to reinforce many times later, professionally and personally, as I got to know him better.
Fot some of these reasons I was really pleased, for Bryan, to learn that he had found happiness with Lynda, and, of course with Eoghan whom, I have no doubt ,would have been the Apple of his gimlet eye.
As long as the aul’ sod continues to produce his beloved ‘world-class consumer products!’ like Bryan & family/clan‘ sure we’ll be grand.
Perhaps unknown to some he was especially kind and indulgent to many of us who had the temerity to stand up to his formidable, even intimidating, persona and knew how to laugh at himself. A VERY rare quality.
A unique character.
Again, so sorry!

Really sorry to hear the sad news about Brian's passing with whom I had the pleasure of working with in CTT when I was manager in Milan and looked forward to his visits and sharing War stories. He had a wonderful outgoing and engaging personality and made a huge contribution to building the reputation of CTT as an International Trade organisation. May he rest in peace.
Lynda and Eoin, sincere condolences to you both. So sorry for your loss.
It was with great shock and sadness that I learned of big Brian’s passing last week. He was one of the good guys and had a very positive influence on my career in Coras Trachtala
all those years ago. Brian had a great skill at successfully mixing business with pleasure and always demonstrated a great “can do” attitude.
Sincere sympathy to Linda, Eoin , Triona, Dermot and his other siblings at this very sad time.

They called him the smartest man in the room, as indeed he was. Always happy to take the
opposite side of any debate, spiced with his own brand of canny mischief. Of his many talents we will remember him for his kindness and decency. Gone too soon. He will be sorely missed.
Lynda and Eoin, Please accept our heartfelt sympathy.

Just a month ago Bryan made a presentation to the virtual meeting of CTT Alumni full of his usual energy and optimism. It is hard to assimilate his passing. My condolences to his wife and son, and family.
I'll never forget Brian saying to me back sometime in the early 1980's in that imperious voice of his: "Peter, let me show you around Chicago." And he did - to the detriment of something that Din Scollay, or Colum McDonnell or Paddy Delaney or Alan McCarthy dreamed up and missed out on! Especially the next morning! RIP Brian!
