It was with great sadness that we heard of Brian’s passing . We knew that Brian had been ill for a while but as a neighbour
who grew up with Brian on the street, he never forgot his friends and neighbours .
On a trip to Boston he arranged to show myself , wife and family on a tour of Harvard University ending up in an Irish music bar . He was such a character and talented person .

I’ve been with you to bid Brian a last farewell. I’m sure he was very happy & proud of you all, it was a beautiful service. I, like everyone in the Church today have memories of Brian, my special one will remain with me, of this year when we both landed in Clonakilty the same day, we sang our hearts out in Shanleys, our childhood days in Ashe street were brought alive that night. Til we meet again Brian, fly high where the music takes you my neighbour & old friend.

I remember Brian growing up in Clon and our school days together. I remember Brian being highly intelligent, extremely good at English and a really nice guy. Brian went on to become a successful Broadcaster, always ready to promote Irish culture abroad, and a wonderful longstanding, Ambassador for UCC and Ireland in the US.
Brian’s legacy lives on in the memories of everyone who knew and loved him. Our heartfelt condolences to Lindsay and to Brian’s immediate and extended family.
