To Maura and family I'm really sorry to hear of the sudden passing of Brian. My Dad, Michael Giffney held him in such high regard in the Stampa & Philatelic circle and as a friend too. Liam Cassin told me about your sad news.
Deepest sympathy to the Warren family on the sudden passing of Brian. Brian was an absolute gentleman to deal with and we always enjoyed our conversations. Stampa was a highlight in our calendar to meet and catch up at the GPO.

Deepest Condolences Maura & family just heard the sad news of the passing of Brian May he's gentle soul rest in peace
I was deeply saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Brian Warren. Brian was one of the true stalwarts of the Irish philatelic scene — a man whose lifelong passion, dedication, and leadership made an immeasurable contribution to Irish stamp collecting.
As the principal promoter and organiser of the annual Stampa Exhibition in Dublin, Brian’s vision and commitment helped sustain and enrich the philatelic community in Ireland for decades. His energy, kindness, and depth of knowledge inspired so many of us who shared his enthusiasm for the hobby.
Though I had not met Brian in person since the early 1980s, after moving to London, we remained in touch from time to time through correspondence on matters of Irish philately. His wisdom, good humour, and generosity of spirit were always evident, even across distance and years.
Brian will be sorely missed — not only by those in the philatelic world, but by all who had the privilege of knowing him. My heartfelt sympathy goes to his wife, children, and grandchildren on the loss of their beloved husband, father, and grandfather.

I would like to express my sincere sympathy to Maura, Siobhán and Louise as well as the wider Warren family on Brian's recent death. To his family his death means the loss of a greatly loved husband and father who took huge pride in their lives and achievements.
Brian also served the philatelic community for many years and in so many ways. He was always present at Stampa to help and give advice and information. His loss will be keenly felt by all of us who have an interest in Irish stamps.
May he now have the eternal rest he has so richly deserved. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam uasal dílis

Dear Brian,
When I first met you in online meetings a few years ago, I was impressed by your philatelic knowledge and your network. At the same time, I felt sympathy for your always friendly personality, always with a smile on your lips. So it was a double pleasure when I got to meet you in person at STAMPA in 2024. At the last STAMPA, we had already welcomed each other like old friends. The fact that this friendship ended so abruptly last week fills me with great sadness. You will certainly be missed not only by the Irish philately, but above all by your family. My sincere compassion goes out to them in particular.

Brian was a colossus in the world of Irish philately, and he will be greatly missed by all – however his many contributions will remain the standard reference material for years to come. I recall his friendship & mentoring and especially the banter at the weekly Friday Teams calls. He will be fondly remembered by his family & many philatelic friends as a true gentleman, with an abundance of enthusiasm and knowledge that he more than willingly shared.
May he rest in peace.
