Deepest sympathy to the McHugh and O Connor families on the loss of Brianne, I was shocked to hear of her passing as I had met her at her sister in laws funeral last year, I have many memories of herself and Pat from my boarding days in Roscrea. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

I knew her as a beautiful, little girl in the Roscrea Junior School, in the 1950's. Even then, she was so caring and loving and attentive. I remember clearly, as if it was yesterday, how she brought you into the Junior school for the first time, and kept a gentle eye on you all the time. May she rest now in the Heart of God.

Dear Reggie and McHugh family, At this sad time, our family is deeply thankful that we had Brianne and all your family in our lives for the last 25 years, since our Matt and your Michele were married. We loved the times we gathered with you, especially for many Thanksgiving celebrations in Englewood, Brooklyn, and Williamstown. Brianne, our “almost sister,” was at the heart of those gatherings, cooking, chatting, laughing, and enjoying and adopting our American traditions. It was with great personal sadness that I learned of the untimely death of my dear cousin Brianne.She was not just my cousin but more like a member of my family and she always displayed a very warm welcome for me whenever we met.When my mother died in childbirth almost 95 years ago now Brianne's grandmother took me as a baby and from then on I was always made to feel like s member of the O'Connor family.

I am truly saddened to hear of Brianne's passing. She taught me German when I was a teenager and, as a result, I won a scholarship to spend three weeks at a school in Germany. That trip was one of the highlights of my life. I always enjoyed my lessons with Brianne: she was a great teacher and also had a lovely, caring, warm personality. Met Brianne when she was director of Drogheda Samaritans, I was only starting on my volunteer journey and was so impressed by her and the organisation she was running, to me she'll always be THE Director.
