Dear Brid.

I thought it fitting to share on St. Brigid's Day that in the blink of an eye it's been over 10 years since we were last photographed together. I remember I had asked one of your sisters, I believe it was the lovely Sinead, to take a photograph of us with my camera.

How grateful I am that I had it and that Sinead agreed to press the shutter. Capturing the moment beautifully, it was a mere glimpse of such a happy and special day.

As important as it was both then, and now more than ever with the passing of time and your own recent passing this year.

I met Brid for the first time at Focus Theatre and I had the pleasure of her friendship over the years with our last production on stage together being Lonely Hearts.

My sincere condolences to all the family, friends and everyone who crossed paths with the wonderful Brid.

I only got to know Bríd in her last few years when she had already been hit with severe illness for some time. She was an inspiring woman: smart, warm and brave. And very funny too! Rest well Bríd. Condolences to Paul and family.

Deepest sympathy to Paul and all the family. She really was the most special human.

I was lucky enough to have lived with Brid in the USA when we met there in our youth , both on J1 visas. Brid’s energy, openness and sense of fun were contagious and lit up our lives over that Summer. Brid was very special. In her life cut too short, she has spread joy, love and laughter and left a significant imprint on this world. She will always hold a special place in my heart.
My sincere sympathy to all of Brid’s family and to all who loved her.

Dear Paul, the Chianaola and Bell family, I wish you all the strength. My thoughts are with you in this difficult time.
I feel grateful to have known Brid. Her energy, humor and zest for life were infectious and still resonate with me.
Thank you also for the hospitality in your house that made it possible for me to join the retreats of The Work Ireland in 2012, 2013 end 2014. Doing The Work with Brid enriched my practice.

Dear Paul,
I was so sad to hear of Brid’s death. I sat beside Brid at Auntie Joan’s funeral lunch, she was so warm and engaging. She offered me great insight into alternative cancer treatments to pass on to my Dad at that time. She subsequently followed up by text with literature on it all. It was so kind and thoughtful of her and meant so much to me.
I am sending you love and strength at this terribly sad time.

Dear Brid,
Thinking of you I see your smile, your open heart and your will to live life to the fullest. I can hardley express what I learned from you. How you really wanted to see the truth and live in peace. And how you looked at dying and did inquiry on all the thoughts and concepts of life and death. I will miss you, and know you will always be there.

Our deepest condolences to Brid’s family. A wonderfully kind, funny and courageous woman we had the pleasure of knowing in the shop and on the farm. Our apologies we can’t see her laid to rest due to illness but she will be in our thoughts today and into the future.
