Dear Hugh, I am hugely saddened to hear that your beloved Brid passed away in September when we were away on holiday. It is through the small world that Ireland is that I heard the sad news today (14 Nov) from Antoinette Connolly whose husband John was a resident of The Lodge. Antoinette happens to be a first cousin of my late Dad, Ned Bowes. Brid was a lovely, gentle and kind lady. She never forgot Dad after Mam died and I am eternally grateful for her kindness to him. I cherish the times we got to spend in her company and with you Hugh. Eamonn and I send our love and sincere condolence to you, your family, and to Ann and Brian at this sad time. May Brid rest in eternal peace.
