Dear Bride,
Thank you for everything; for being my godmother and being a constant presence in my life. At every major event from my christening to my wedding, there you were. Thank you for always listening and offering me advice - over the phone or email, there you were. For showing me that it's possible for women to be strong but to always be kind and stay true to myself.
Above all else, thank you for treating us like family, for meals and laughter, and knowing we always had a place in your home. I hope you know how much you mean to us and how all of us are the better for having had you in our lives.
Le grá,
Muireann.

Dear Bride,
Almost two months ... and I still cannot believe it. I am so grateful you have been in my life: so loving, so attentive, so generous, so courageous, so funny.
In our last email to me you wrote the words of the great Irish poet, William Butler Yeats: "Think where man's glory begins and ends, and say my glory was I had such friends". There is nothing more to add.
You will never be gone, know your place in my heart, memory and gratitude is permanent.
Much love,
Gio
To Bride's family: my deepest sympathy. I followed online the celebration of Bride's life. Mary mentioned a "twelfth" Godchild. I think she was referring to my daughter whom I named after Bride. I met Bride when I was pregnant 25 years ago, I knew I was expecting a girl and I couldn't think of a better model than Bride and I was so right. Thank you for having shared your Bride with us.

I am sorry for the loss of Bride for the people who’s day to day lives she was a part of, and for the countless more who were helped by her efforts. I am sorry that Bride will not get to finish what she had planned for another time. I know I’m not alone in my wish to spend another visit hearing stories and sharing my own with her. I am very sorry to hear of Brides untimely death. May she rest in peace. I remember with great fondness those heady days in 1990 when she marshalled us young college students to canvas and the joy that night in the rds. Her passion was contagious. Her articulation of what needed to be done kept us all motivated. My sympathy to Peter, Mary, Michael and family

I am very sorry to hear of the death of Bride, a woman I have admired for a long time. We met regularly in the Dublin Community and Comprehensive branch of the TUI in the 1980's, and she was always warm, exceptionally inspiring and determined. She and Peter were a formidable negotiating team, full of good sense, vision and concern for ordinary teachers and people. We all looked up to them and she will be sorely missed.
As a past pupil of St Dominic's College Ballyfermot I was very sad to hear of Ms Rosney (Bride) she was our Science teacher in the early 70's. We truly had great affection for her she would help us and explain everything to us which I'm sure was quiet a challenge as we were a gregarious bunch of girls. Always smiling full of enthusiasm of course it transferred to us when you have a wonderful human being like her planting a seed you go on to live life with an open heart and mind and for me achieving a BSC degree in later life. I wish to convey my sincere condolence to her partner her family and everyone who worked with her and knew her.

We were both very saddened to hear of Bride’s passing. I have very vivid memories of both our families growing up together on Rathdown Road in the 50’s and 60’s and the mischievous things we got up to, none more so than by Bride’s lovable Brother Paddy (RIP). Olivia was also very fortunate to have share her school days with Bride in and out of class and always spoke so warmly about her and the fun they had in school and also in Skerries where they spent a lot of time together not to mention their few very recent get togethers. Our heartfelt condolences to Mary , Michael, and Bride’s partner Peter.

She was my Science teacher in secondary school (PCS) and I have so many fond memories of those days - she made learning fun and was a great mentor. My sympathy to her family and wide circle of friends. Rest peacefully Miss Rosney.
Bride, we are bereft at your passing. Your judgement, wit, caring, and all the other attributes, recited here, are irreplaceable. I was looking forward to the planned glass of wine and a catch-up. Typical quiet exit, no fuss, no ego. Make heaven a better place.
To Peter and your family, condolences and solace in your bereavement. Thank you for sharing her with us.

My condolences to you, Peter, on the sudden loss of your life partner and best friend and to Mary and Michael on the loss of your beloved sister, Bride.
I first met Bride when she was interviewed for a documentary series I produced in 2000 on modern Irish architecture and to which she made an incisive contribution about the State's uneven record as the custodian of our built environment and national architectural heritage. She also became a close friend and valued mentor of my husband, Pat Montague.
Bride was warm, witty and immensely wise. What I loved about her was her deep emotional intelligence, her independent mindedness, her honesty and her reliability. If Bride had your back, she backed you to the hilt. She had great self-awareness. She had the full measure of herself, and others. Her judgment was gold standard. She was such an astute judge of character. And she used those gifts as a force for good and especially as a voice for the voiceless. In the unpredictable world of politics this made her a formidable ally and foe. Unimpressed by grandiosity or self-importance, she never flinched from speaking truth to power or cutting any ego down to size. But her blunt candour was matched by an equally wicked sense of humour and a generosity of spirit which was most evident when she encouraged and guided those she cared about to realise and flourish to their full potential.
Thank you, Bride, for your friendship, support and wise counsel when it mattered most. Codladh samh.

Bride was one of the most impressive people I have known. It's very hard to take in that she is no longer with us. She was a woman of wisdom, intelligence and wit. And she gave her country great service. My thoughts are with Peter and her family.
Sincere condolences to Bride's partner Peter and all her family. Bride worked with the Public Appointments Service over the past many years continuing her contribution to public life. She provided great support, advice and above all humour in everything she did. We will all miss working with her.
