My sympathy to you, David and your loved ones.
I’m sorry I couldn’t make it due to work and geographical limitations.
Your mother was a great woman who left a huge impact on me and my family’s lives with her welcoming kindness, and was a cornerstone for a huge circle of relations and friends.
As many may have already mentioned, Christmas visits to with her, Sean and yourself were a traditional gathering that set lifelong memories.
But it wasn’t just the decades of visits to a wonderful, generous aunt that kept open arms of welcome, it was her open view of life experience that was progressively shared as we grew, and because of this, she became my first choice of source for a college project on cultural effects of movies today compared to other generations.
She elaborated on all areas with passion. I did well in that topic with her help😃.
But as time will eventually take all of us, I’m so glad I got to see her more recently in the home out by Cappagh, and she was in good form. She still said I was the image of Charlie, her brother, my dad.
May they be together again in peace in the next life.
Wish you comfort and peace, David.
Talk soon,
your cousin,John McCormack.

Just a note from Carol, daughter of Philip McCormack. Sorry to hear of Bridies death and we send our condolences. I remember being on holiday as a small child and staying at the family house. Very sorry that we cannot make the trip over due to the short timescale and we hope that the arrangements all go well. Regards to all.

Rest in peace Bridie
Dear David and extended family. Myself and Lia are saddened to hear the news of the passing of Bridie, your mother and my most kind aunt. She along with Sean gave us, the Mc Cormacks, some of the most wonderful memories of Christmas. They always had a present for us all...and there was 10 of us. That was a lot to take on, to remember a gift for each nephew, every year, in the 70s and 80s. But the biggest gift of both Bridie and Sean was that they cared, and took interest in each of us. And uncle Paddy too...they were so kind to him. Their house in Finglas West was small, but always warm...with a warm welcome and smile and a friendly chat with every visit. Bridie had a good sense of humour too...as did Sean. How they made us laugh. We were gifted to have them both in our lives. Thank you David for looking after Bridie, especially in recent times. And the staff of the care home, who worked so hard to see she was well cared for. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Your cousin, Patrick
We are so sad to hear about Bridie’s passing. We have very fond memories of her good humour, kindness and gentleness when on her visits to Cavan with Seán over the years. She was a wonderful lady, may she rest in peace. Condolences to you David and all the family.
