Thinking back in the old days when Bertie & (Babs) would drive Maxwell car to cinema in Ballybofey pick us all up at Reid's corner on a Saturday night everyone packed in to capacity those were the happy days. I was sorry to learn of the death of Brigid after a long illness borne with great fortitude and in the loving care of Bertie and the family. She was an elegant lady, always impeccably adorned in the most up-to-date fashion of the day and her infectious laughter and sense of fun endeared her to all who came in contact with her.
She was imbued with a great work ethic, no doubt passed down to her from her late parents, Paddy and Mary, and in her daily work as Manager of Kees Hotel, she passed on this work ethic to countless numbers of young employees who came under her care in the Hotel down the years. Always a lady who called things as she saw them, Brigid did not suffer fools gladly and would soon let one know this in no uncertain terms. May she rest in peace.
