My dear friend Floss,

I met you for the first time when I was 17 years old on my first trip to New York. You were the life and soul of the party a real lady dressed to kill (very posh).

When I returned back to New York two years later to live, you helped James and myself get jobs. 28 years later James still has that job!

What I wouldn't give for those Friday nights of corn beef and cabbage and a few drinks at PJ Clarkes and talk about everything and everyone.

You were there for all the important points in my life. You came with me to brooklyn to pick out my wedding dress. When Kelly was born 3 weeks early and my Mam hadnt arrived from Ireland, you were at the hospital within the hour after Kelly was born.

I am so grateful we met 30 odd years ago.

I will be going to your beloved St Patrick's Cathedral in NYC and light a dozen candles

An amazing lady, full of life, loved a good laugh and always stylish. Flossie was great for advice and there was no messing around, she was a straight talker especially when it came to family and looking out for each other. We had so many great experiences of her kindness & generosity in New York. (We also looked forward to the parcels from the US!) We will miss you. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a Anam. XX
