I only recently heard of Maura's passing. my sincere condolences to all her family. I worked with Maura in the Regional hospital and also served with her during her many years involved in Impact Trade union. She was such a lovely lady and had so much knowledge about union matters. She was loved by all who knew her. May her gentle soul rest in peace.
I loved you Mary B. I have only fond memories of 32 Athlunkard street - of your care and thoughtfulness, your vast collection of books in your room, your love of the arts and culture of Ireland, and your kind eyes that always had a soft magic to them. What a lady you were and a friend you'll forever be. See you in the afterlife. Love JP
My cousin, Bridget Maura Nash, known in the family as Mary B, named after her mother, Mary Nash, my aunt, my mother Nora's sister, has been a loving constant in my life since I was born. She worked at the main desk of the Regional Hospital, Limerick for 42 years and was a reliable and comforting presence to all who encountered her until she retired in 2002. A member of Cumann na mBan, an activist and union representative in her place of work, she was the least selfish person I ever met. Mary B, I will celebrate you on St. Bridget’s Day when the whole of Ireland will be en fête.
I was so sorry to learn of Maura (Mary B.'s) death and I extend my deepest condolences to Martin, Karen, Mary, Brima, Claire, Richard and the extended family and many friends. I regret very much that I wasn't able to attend her funeral due to my being out of the country. I knew Maura for many years through our Trade Union activities and later through the Centre for Unemployed. Maura was a lovely, genuine, caring, kind and generous person who showed great compassion, especially towards the less well off. We had many great chats about various books and their authors, various places of travel and so much more. She was a fountain of knowledge and had a very keen interest in history and current affairs and shared much of that with me. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis.
Maura had a beautiful soul, she loved meeting people and telling stories. She was a font of knowledge. She trained me when I first arrived in Reception and passed on her expertise. Her nails were always lovely and painted a beautiful colour. She was a great one for the Union and went on many excursions with them. I will never forget her gentleness and appreciation for living life to the full.
Every sincere condolence to Martin and Maura's family.

On my own behalf and that of her former colleagues on the Board of Management of the Limerick Resource Centre for the Unemployed may I
extend deepest sympathy on the passing of Maura. She was always most diligent in her participation on our board, which spanned many years, and had a real and genuine interest in the work of the Centre and the welfare of its staff.

A kind and gentle lady, may she rest in peace.

Mary B, you were the definition of a true lady and carried yourself with such grace. You were gentle, kind and thoughtful, never failing to remember a birthday or anniversary. My children always looked forward to the thoughtful little packages you sent to Canada for birthdays, Christmas, Easter and of course the St Patrick's day badges. Your love for us was immense and you were equally cherished in return.

I will always treasure the memories of our the visits to Athlunkard St, where we shared tea and biscuits at the kitchen table, with your St Bridget's cross hanging in the front door window.

Rest in Peace, sweet Mary B. Your reward in heaven will be great as you dedicated your life to all of us. We love you dearly.

Mary B as we have always called her was a living Saint The central call in her life was to love and care for others especially those in her immediate family
Her reward reflected in her living a full life of peace and happiness
She was kind and gentle to all and focused only on the Image od God in each of us
She was a joy to be with and we had wonderful times together She was our bridesmaid at our wedding and spent many great times visiting us in England and Canada
She is now receiving her greatest reward in the loving arms of God the Father in Heaven

May she rest in peace. Sincere sympathies to her family at this sad time.
Mary B was the epitome of the saying “If you don’t have anything kind to say, don’t say it.” She is and was a lesson for all of us in grace, kindness and common courtesies. It will feel like the end of an era not to have your constant, steadfast and unconditional support in this world but the legacy you leave behind will shine on and outlive you. I would urge us all in our darker and lower moments to be that bit more Mary B so we can all make the world a better place and be better humans to have known her. We certainly feel the strength you gave us, especially our Dad, Richard.

Your grace and ability to coordinate an outfit will be missed but never forgotten. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for loving us all so deeply. As I said in our final farewell this month, you are so loved and a very special lady.

Sincere condolences to Martin &Family on the sad Passing of Mary B.Anne O Shea &the Shanahan Family x Elm Place
Mary B was such a loving, kind and thoughtful person. I can remember Mary B taking me on the bus in Limerick in 1970’s for adventures downtown to the bookstores, art gallery, toy shops and the pictures! She was so caring and such a joy to be around. 32 Athlunkard Street, was a place we frequently visited, we loved the back garden and exploring the house.
She never forgot our birthdays or Christmas, showering us with lovely gifts and cards.
She loved and lived life to the fullest, immersing herself in the arts, poetry readings, theatre, book signings, writers week and Fleadh Cheoil’s.
Even when we immigrated to Canada the family kept in close contact and she came over for extended periods on two occasions.
She had a deep and profound faith and saw the true meaning of life, a connection to a higher power and kindness to others. She truly loved her family all of us and will be sadly missed. Love you always Mary B.

Mary B, Our Angel on Earth & now an Angel in Heaven. You may be the biggest dilly dallier I know (even worse than me) but the fact was every single person wouldn’t care how long they were waiting for you. Because the fact was, they were waiting for you. One of the most beautiful people i have ever had the honour of knowing. You walked with such grace, always with perfectly painted nails, soft gentle hands and a chuckle I will cherish forever. You loved so deeply & you cared even more. Thank you for being the biggest rock to Dad & for always seeing the good in everyone.

I will Love you always.
Condolences to family on Maura's passing. Many fond memories of Maura on reception in UHL, an absolute lady. May she rest in peace.
Mary B was and always will be, the beating heart of our family. Our Matriarch, guiding light and moral compass. I spent my life learning about my lineage and hearing all of the wonderful things there were to know about our family and its history from her. She was the kindest, most loving and compassionate person, truly an angel on earth and it brings me such peace knowing that she had such strong faith and belief in what happens when we leave this earth. We will always be guided by her light and her love and we are who we are because of her. I will never forget the adventures we spent together throughout my childhood summers or the moment I got to introduce her to my partner, Lucy and the immediately assured seal of approval. If it came from Mary B, you knew it meant something, you knew it must be right because she’s always been tapped into the higher powers of this world. Rest in peace, we love you so very much x
