A sad day for all with the loss of a person of the calibre of Bridie. She was the most active, committed and enthusiastic person and the family she leaves and the standing of Dunlaoghaire parish and community is testament to that. The success of the annual Garda mass now in its 61st year was down to the support of Bridie and indeed all the Dunphy family. In the words of the soon to be elevated Saint - John Henry Newman - …...''Then in his mercy may he give her a safe lodging, a holy rest and peace at the last
Sincere sympathy to the Dunphy and Hogan families on the sad loss of Bridie who was a wonderful wife and mother. I am sorry I could not attend the funeral personally but I am currently in hospital. Kind regards Bernard King
We are very sad to hear of Bridie’s death. We are also sorry that we will be on holiday next week and will not be able to attend the funeral. Please accept our deepest sympathy on your loss.
Mick, I have many happy and funny memories down in no 3 with Bridie and Mick Snr at the helm! Bridie was a very special person and I am proud to say that I am one of the lucky people to have known her. She was a brilliant Mum and she loved her family and did everything she could for them. She was wonderfully straight when you spoke with her and she had a great sense of humour that will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her in the Borough. There is no doubt about that.
I would like to express our heartfelt and sincere condolences to all the Dunphy's, the Hogans, the Ferris and the Haughney families and all who knew her, on this very sad occasion on behalf of my family. Dún Laoghaire won't be the same without her.
