She was the link between the families in England & Ireland & for over 60 years was a constant presence in our lives. Growing up she was always happy to offer useful advice & guidance & always gave us a warm welcome into her home.

There were so many happy memories of her visits to our house. Bridie was notorious for having a crafty snooze whilst everyone else was chatting but could then continue the conversation as if nothing had happened. It was such a skill!

Another fond memory was when Bridie was asked to navigate on a family trip to the beach at Southport. However, it didn’t quite work out that way as she had misread the map & we ended up in Stockport town centre! She never lived that one down & we had many a laugh about it over the years.

Bridie we will miss you terribly but you will live on in our memories. May you R.I.P. in heaven along with loved ones who have gone before you.

We are so sorry for the loss of our great friend Bridie. She has been a regular caller to our home over the pass 30years. She was always in good form and enjoyed the chats. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Condolences to her family and her many friends. May she rest in peace.

Sincere sympathy to the Murphy family. Bridie was always a constant in my life from my early childhood until the day she passed. She was to me, more than just a family friend she was a much loved surrogate aunty. She was always there to offer her love and words of wisdom, be it in person or on the phone. A very wise and loving lady who did so much privately to help others and never sought thanks or acknowledgement. She was always playing tricks and created a loving, fun atmosphere where ever she went. As a child I remember the sweets she always carried in her bag that she sneaked to us. Her surprise visits were always most welcome. I will truly miss her in so many ways. RIP Bridie
