My deepest sympathy to my dear cousin, Michael and his family on the sad passing of their very special wife and mother, Bridie RIP. I first met Bridie as a child when they visited Clonmoyle, a young couple with their first born, Pauline, a baby in arms. She always was a warm, interesting and bright woman. Herself and Michael raised a wonderful family and lived a generous life in their home and beyond. Bridie was always so welcoming when we came to visit. Yesterday at her funeral Mass and graveside they paid tribute to their beloved wife and mother. May Bridie rest in deserving peace. Suaimhneas síoraí dá h-anam dílis.

So very sorry to hear of the death of dear Bridie. Our condolences to all the family and to her friends. I have such happy memories of sitting in the kitchen as a teenager after school week after week, feasting on her famous apple cake. The whole house would be filled with the aroma of baking even though she had simultaneously have been out playing golf all morning. Such an excellent example for us youngsters. It was such a welcoming house, as nearly all of my own relations were in Cork it felt such a real home from home. Pauline and I would practice for the Feis all afternoon in our own spacious "studio" in perfect peace, even though the house was filled with children. Or sit as students in later years, chatting late into the night; Bridie whooshed the younger ones away to let us all talk in peace. We'll plant a cooking apple tree in Donegal to remember Bridie next season. Ar dheis Dé go rabh a hanam uasal.
