I was so sad to learn of the death of dear Brigid RIP.
My sincere sympathy and condolences to her devoted husband Joe and family her sister Mary Margaret Gowing neighbours and friends.
I knew Brigid from school in Abbeyleix. She was a best friend of my sister Mary Patricia .
Joe you took such good care of Brigid . She was such a gracious and gentle lady always and fun loving . She has gone home to God and will be close to you all from her home in Heaven. Kay ( Brigidine Sister ) .

I am in utter shock hearing the news today of the death of my dear friend, Brigid, may she rest in peace and enjoy the happiness of her new home with God and with all those gone before her. My deepest sympathy to you Joe, to your children and grandchildren as you grieve the loss of your beloved life-long friend, companion and wife of 51 years. Brigid was my best friend at school, Brigidine Convent Abbeyleix. We were often called the Siamese twins! In the last few years, I was aware of her illness and treatment that was often severe. Yet, she always borne her illness lightly and without self-pity as anytime I visited her, she was her usual cheerful and positive self, giving Joe great praise for his nursing care. My last visit was in January of this year, when we did a lot of Reminiscing on our school days. I could see she was growing weaker. May Brigid reap the fruits of her goodness, cheerfulness and the joy that she brought to so many during her life, especially to her family. My love and prayers go with you Brigid.
