Bro Cormac was passionate about education with a focus on gospel values. He made an enormous contribution to the development and promotion of Catholic education.

May Bro. Cormac rest in peace.
I first met Cormac while attending a course in Ballyfin College for the month of June 1966 which was organised by the late Brother Maurice and run by the Biology School of Trinity College. We had great fun and the camaraderie during that time has remained with me all these years.I still remember him at the end of the course heading off on his bicycle down the avenue of Ballyfin accompanied by Bro Simeon, waving to us as they headed back to Tullow on a beautiful June evening. When appointed Principal of St Josephs Patrician College Galway - known to all past pupils as the Bish- Brother Cormac was a great advisor and helper to me in my new role. He then began a regular meeting of all Principals in the Patrician Secondary Schools where he updated us in new developments and plans coming from the Department of Education and also made suggestions as to how we could improve school life for all teachers, pupils and parents. When the future of Catholic Education came under pressure he actively and vigoursly worked on the foundation of the Le Chéile Trust and strongly supported Boards of Management in the Patrician Schools.
May his gentle soul rest in peace and my deepest sympathy to all the Cummins family and his fellow Patrician Brother all over the world.
