I have such fond memories of my years in the TURF club as part of the team looking after the upkeep and Mr O Sullivan treated us all as equals with dignity and respect. A very sad day when we say goodbye, Cahir. You were a kind boss and dear friend to me and to many others and much respected in the racing community. I will never forget your quick wit and wonderful sense of humour. My deepest sympathy goes to Cahir’s family, Jean, Richard, Yvonne and especially to Gordon who looked after his father so well.

I am very sorry to hear of Cahir's death and send my condolences to his Family. In the late sixties, early seventies my late brother (Peter Matson.) and Cahir started up the Scanglo factory in New-Castle-West together. Peter always spoke very well of Cahir. May he rest in peace. Liz.

Never had the pleasure of meeting with Cahir ,unfortunately, but often heard kind stories from his brother (Tony) here in the North East!

Unfortunately I am unable to attend today as I’m in Covid close contact isolation but I’ll always have fond memories of Cahir as a true champion of the Turf Club. My father, Victor, and Cahir were very close and my father always had huge respect and admiration for Cahir. RIP.
