Caitríona Ní Drisceoil (O'Driscoll)

My deepest sympathy to Caitríona’s family on her sad passing. May she rest in peace. Caitríona was the vice principal when I joined the staff of St Vincent’s Secondary School. She was a fantastic mentor who gave me great encouragement and support as a new teacher. I learned so much from Caitríona and am eternally grateful to her. Caitríona was always very kind, very pleasant and had a great sense of humour. I really appreciate having had the opportunity to work with Caitríona.

I was very sorry to hear of the passing of Caitriona , she was the best teacher ever and instilled in me the love of Irish . I loved Peig . Gunna cam agus Slabhra oir agus Toraiocht Diarmuid agus Gráinne , all down to the way she taught us

Sincere condolences to the family of Caitriona. As has been said many times already by St Vincent's staff members, Caitriona was an inspirational educator. She was also so much more. She mentored all us young teachers in a nurturing non judgemental way. My Irish was poor to put it mildly but she never made me feel self conscious because of that, just constantly affirmed me and told me I was great, which a young teacher needs to hear so much. Her sense of humour was wonderful. I remember her role playing a "challenging" student at a training day one time and she had us all in stitches. I have really fond memories of her. May she rest in peace.

Caitríona was a shining light of integrity, diligence, kindness and good humour when I knew her as Vice-Principal in St. Vincent’s Secondary School. I will be forever grateful to have worked with and known her.

It was with great sadness that I learned of Iníon Ní Drisceoil's passing. I had the privilege of being both a past pupil and colleague of Caitríona's. She was a brilliant, kind and caring teacher and an inspirational mentor to me starting out in my career. She will long be cherished in the hearts of Vincent's girls.

On behalf of the staff and students of St. Vincent’s Secondary School, I wish to express our sincere condolences on the passing of Caitríona Ní Drisceoil, a much-respected former teacher and Deputy Principal of the school.

Although I did not have the privilege of working alongside Caitríona, I have heard many warm and positive accounts of her time in school — her dedication to her students, her commitment to excellence in education, and the generous spirit she brought to all aspects of school life. Her contribution to St. Vincent’s has left a lasting legacy, and she is fondly remembered by colleagues and past pupils alike.

We extend our deepest sympathy to her family, friends, and all who mourn her loss.

I used to meet Catriona occasionally while out walking the dog she always stopped for a chat and loved to pet the dog especially during Covid times when we were all bit lonely A lovely lady may her gentle soul RIP.
