Deepest sympathy to the O'Donoghue Family on Canon Brendan's passing. May He Rest in Peace 🙏
My sincere condolences to the family of Canon Brendan. Canon O'Donoghue was "THE Canon" for forever. In fact I am not sure I know another one now! A most gentle man, a true leader in his vocation, and a wonderful priest to all of Shannon for what feels like his entire lifetime. I was very young when he turned up at school to introduce himself as the new priest. I now realise he had a full life before us too - what a man, what an age, what a life well-lived and an inspiration to the phrase "keep the faith". No doubt he will be amongst those we treasured most, but feel we have lost, with the angels in Heaven. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Anne's schools. We extend our sympathies to his family, many friends, and fellow priests.
So sorry to hear of the death of my colleague Canon Brendan. It was a very committed priest in all the parishes where he served and especially to those he met as director of the Killaloe Pilgrimage to Lourdes. He was full of energy and enthusiasm and it was always great to have a chat when we used to meet at Lourdes each February. May our Lady of Lourdes welcome him into the kingdom won for us through the Resurrection of Jesus our Saviour. The Ossory pilgrimage to Lourdes team extend its sympathies to Brendan’s family, Bishop Monaghan, clergy of the diocese of Killaloe and especially to Fr. Tom Ryan and the Killaloe Lourdes pilgrimage team present and former. R.I.P.
