Sincere sympathy to the O’Sullivan and O’Leary families and extended families on the recent passing of Canon William O’Sullivan. He visited Callan regularly over the years and it was always a pleasure to meet him. A man of prayer and keen intellect who gave witness to his faith both in word and deed. He preached the truth of the faith regardless of current opinions. I witnessed his ability to do this on one occasion at the Divine Mercy Conference, and was greatly impressed at his intellectual capabilities in dealing with contemporary issues. May he now rest in peace with all his loved ones gone before him not forgetting his sister Bridget.

Canon Willie was a dear friend of my late uncle Canon Michael Walsh and I had the pleasure of meeting Willie a number of times in recent years and have been hearing his name for decades. Two Corkmen who went to the seminary together and onto Scotland when they were ordained. Their lives were very similar. May he rest in peace.
