Dear Doris, Ann, Zoë and Roger. Jo and I were so sad to hear of Barry’s death. He was a very nice and kind man and I always got on very well with him anytime I met him. Our sincerest condolences.

So sorry to hear of Mr. Tyrrell's passing. I only ever met him in the lane but I liked him. Condolences to all his family. There wont ever be another like him! RIP Mr Tyrrell!

Deepest sympathy to the Tyrell family. I knew Barry when he was a young boy living in one of the two houses on the left-hand side of the road just past the Wheelie Pump as one goes towards what is now known as The Arklow Bay Hotel. His mother was also a most kind lady who helped me enormously by advising my parents to get a kapok mattress to solve my asthma problem. She too loved music and supported local musical societies. d Barry rest in peace.

To his wife Doris, children, Anne, Zoe and Roger, my deepest sympathy. I used to live in Upper Tinahask opposite Miss Tyrrell, his aunt. She used to sit in the window and watch for Captain Barry when she knew his ship was anchored. Footprints in the sand get washed away by the tide, but imprints on our hearts will live on forever. He was one of life's gentlemen.

Dear Doris

I am very sorry to hear of Barry's passing.

He lived a long and fulfilled life and I have great memories of him, especially when he took me on a trip to Liverpool a long time ago on the Murrell.

I often remember the times that we all had together many many years ago, back to your student days in the Adelaide, and you would meet in our house in St. Peter's Rd.

I very much regret that I will be unable to attend his funeral as we are going away for a week tomorrow.
