So sorry to hear of your loss Winnie. My thoughts are with you and your family at this sad time.

My heart is broken at the loss of my lovely nephew and best friend Carl, at the same time I am filled with admiration for the heroic fight and strength of will he showed over the past six months. My heartfelt condolences go out to you Winnie his loving wife and soulmate, and to Fergal and Tess his wonderful children, he knew you all loved him with every breath in your bodies as he loved you too, my further condolences go to his sister Sandie and brother Shane and familys who have had to bear too many losses in recent years, although he was taken too soon I feel he is not far from us, he is in good company with Scott, Kerry, Kay and George and the rest of the folks who have passed, Rest in peace Carl till we all meet in a happier place, love uncle Kev

Dear Una, Fergal and Tess, I am very sorry about poor Carl's death. He suffered terribly over the last six months. You have my sincere condolences. May he rest in peace, Carmel Storey.

Dearest Una (aka Winnie), Fergal and Tess. A note to say how sorry I was to hear of Carl’s untimely death (not yet 62) on Thursday 3rd October. While I can understand the loss that you are experiencing at this very sad time, clearly I cannot fully appreciate the devastation that you are feeling. I hope that you are able to gain comfort from all those around you who knew Carl much better than I did. Despite being family, our life paths did not overlap that much and thus I cannot really say that I knew Carl well. I was shocked and saddened when I first heard of his illness; the fact that he had to endure a six month ordeal must have been very difficult for him and you. I was very pleased to hear Una that, after a lifetime together (45 years), you and Carl finally ‘tied the knot’ in time! Your words of eulogy Tess were very beautiful and your father would have been so proud to hear them. You all gave him a very dignified send-off and your words Fergal and the music at the crematorium were very fitting. I believe and trust that Carl is now at peace and that time will ease the pain of his absence for you all. He is and will be sorely missed. Rest in Peace Carl. Our Deepest Condolences to you..Winnie , Tess ,& Fergal . Carl was an amazing guy! worked with him in Telecoms almost ten years & always looked forward to meeting up with him . He was soo funny , witty & thoughtful . Carl would always make you feel like you had someone in your corner, he didn't intertain fools & always stood up for others when he saw an injutice . He was was one of kind , & I will miss him .He was a great friend also to my Uncle Brian Cassidy in Cabintely , who thought the world of Carl & always enjoyed his company
for a few pints & a chat in the Magic Carpet. You will be greatly missed, but remembered foundly. Our thoughts are with you all.

Winnie, it's with Great Sadness that I hear of Carl's passing from Ernie. I was lucky enough to be one of those people to have known him. I love him like a brother. He had a wicked sense of humour, I'll always cherish his sincerity and willingness to help.
