Sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Carl. He taught me guitar many years ago and his style was unique and encouraging, organising performance nights to give us a chance to put our learning into practice. He was a brilliant musician and gave us the essentials in understanding chords and rhythm and how best to accompany ourselves. He has left a great legacy to all whom he taught over the years. Special thoughts and prayers with Catherine and Mary at this time for the great care they took care of Carl for so long. May his soul Rest in Eternal Peace
Deepest sympathies on the passing of Carl, a wonderful guitar teacher and a lovely, kind person.

My deepest sympathies to Carl’s friends and family.
Although I didn’t know him, i heard so much about him from his friend Catherine who along with his friend Mary did so much for him in the final years of his life, ensuring he got the best care possible.
Rest in peace Carl.

Carl taught me guitar in Gonzaga, more than 50 years ago. He gave us a great musical grounding which has stood to me ever since. His teaching style was one of encouragement and whenever his name comes up in conversation, he is remembered fondly. Carl’s legacy lives on in the fingers of all of us who he taught. May he rest in peace.
My sympathies to all who knew Carl especially to his wonderful friends Catherine and Mary and to all the staff who cared for Carl in St Marys Hospital during his time there I am so sorry I am unable to pay my respects in person you will be in my thoughts during these difficult days
May you rest in eternal peace Carl

What fun it was to attend your guitar classes many years ago! It was often more of a discussion on your philosophy of life than it was about the chord F#m! You always advised us to live in the moment and not to be wishing our lives away! You didn't like to waste the intervening time before a holiday or event by only looking forward to the upcoming date but instead to bring it into the present, by allowing the thought of it to make us happy. I hope you are happy and at peace dear Carl. Condolences to family and friends on your passing.
