To all the Collins family - I was saddened to learn of the passing of Mrs Collins. She was my Irish and French teacher in Colaiste and I have such fond memories of her classes. She pushed me to achieve and it was great to have her in your corner. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time. May she rest in peace.

Carmel, your legacy for family speaks for itself, for your friends .. we hold the heart prints of your love and honesty dear. Your good council when often necessary will dearly miss. Through those dearest to you, so much of your playful roguishness will remain for us so we may never forget, but feel your presence accompany us with gratitude for your love a forever constant.

I was lucky to have Mrs. Collins for Irish for all 5 years in Colaiste. She was a superb teacher, always respectful, always in charge of her class and her subject, always kind, patient and encouraging and she always gave us the benefit of the doubt. She also had a great sense of humour which she needed when preparing us for the Irish oral I remember! Rest in peace Mrs. Collins.

My sincere sympathies to all the Collins family. Carmel was a lovely lady and wonderful neighbour. This time last year, we called over (myself and my 2 daughters, trick or treating) Halloween night.. Carmel & Michael insisted we come in so they could spoil the girls with bundles of treats. She was always so warm & generous and will be sadly missed. From all the Dowling & Gillespie family

I was privileged to have Mrs. Collins as my Irish teacher in the late 70’s in Coláiste Muire and also baby sat for her and Michael many times. The love they had for one another and you their children was so evident and I’ve never forgotten it or how much she missed Michael when he was away in Dublin doing courses. May she be rewarded in Heaven for all her goodness shown to everyone and may God comfort you all in your loss.
