Sincere condolences. I knew Carmel from the National gallery,She was always really nice and friendly,Always spoke of her art work in the red Stables in St Anne's park. She will be very sadly missed.Rest in Peace Carmel.

Sincere sympathies to Mick, to Carmel’s sisters Eilish and Bernadette, and to all the Healy and Lally families on the very sad death of Carmel. I feel so lucky to have known Carmel and to have had so many good times together in the Lord Mayor’s, not to mention the 5 holidays in NYC! Carmel was the best guide ever to have, and went out of her way to ensure we experienced everything the city had to offer. It’s no surprise she worked with Bord Fáilte! My fondest memory is the laugh we had when 7 year old Shane asked her where all the other rooms were in the tiny apartment? I’m so sad that Carmel has gone. Her loss to Mick is immeasurable. I’ll miss Carmel and her friendship, but I’ll always remember her warmth, kindness and generosity to us all and the great welcome she always gave us on our visits to New York.

Carmel was a wonderful Bord Fáilte colleague for decades - always helpful and positive.
I got to know Carmel better when she joined our team in New York where she quickly endeared herself to everyone with her great can-do attitude and sense of fun. It was great to see how Mick and Carmel knocked so much out of their years in the Big Apple; treasured memories.
Apart from her volunteer work with the National Gallery, Carmel also demonstrated her artistic abilities by becoming a very good amateur painter.
A life well lived.
