I was very sorry to hear this sad news. I knew Carmel from her days in Dillon Eustace and I remember her fondly. My condolences to her family, friends and her local community of which she was clearly a central and important part. RIP Carmel.

I was in her UCD class and also worked next door to her for a few years when we were trainees and young solicitors and a crowd of us would often go to the pub on a Friday evening. Carmel was such a friendly, kind and fun person. Very sincere and genuine and never a bad word to say about anyone. She was very popular in college. It is such a shock to hear of her passing so young and I am sure you will miss her terribly. May she rest in peace.

Sincere condolences to Carmel's Dad, her sisters, brother and extended family and friends on her very sad loss. I was very sorry to hear about it at way too young an age. I was in college with Carmel in UCD in the 1980's and she was always a very kind, generous, gentle person with a lovely manner, smile and a word for everyone. I always had a warm welcome too from Carmel as we were the only 2 Sligo people in the year! (i'm originally from Enniscrone) - so meeting Carmel always felt like meeting someone from home.

Over the years since moving to the Liberties, we had the pleasure of knowing Carmel initially as a neighbour but this quickly became a friendship. Carmel’s passing leaves behind a large gap in the Liberties given her considerable voluntary work for the community. Most of all we will miss her wit and always welcoming smile. Carmel was the best neighbour and friend one could have in The Liberties. Our two boys remember her so well, buying books and odds and ends off their sale of work stall outside our house when they were kids. Carmel often made their day chatting away about their products and then giving them 1 or 2 euro extra instead of their 50 cent asking price. We are very sorry to hear of Carmel's passing and she will be sadly missed. We extend our sympathies to Carmel's family and friends. May she rest in peace 🙏
