My deepest sympathies to you Mary. Ray, Stephen, and Kieran and family on the death of your sister Carol

I had the privilege of working with Carol in the musicianship department for 9 years. Carol was so helpful and kind to me and she freely shared her knowledge, time and resources to help me when I arrived as a new teacher in 2006.

I witnessed the extreme care, love, and attention to detail that she gave to her classes and also to her cello students. All of the children loved her so much.

She was great fun to be with and I was so thrilled that she was able to attend my 60th birthday celebration at my house in Whitechurch in June 2022. Eithne and Carol were the last to leave as we were chatting so much.

She will be greatly missed

May her gentle soul rest in peace

Dear Carol,

Thank you for nurturing my love of music from the age of five to adulthood! You were always, so gentle, so patient and so supportive. Your innate kindness was so clear in everything you did.

I don’t know where we go when we pass over, but I know your kindness, generosity and musicality live on. My son here in London is in love with the cello and there are 100s of former students out there no doubt passing on your love of music to the next generation.

Wherever you are I know you’re at peace.

My sincere condolences to your family and closest friends. Carol was loved by many.

Wonderful memories of you Carol as a dear friend and colleague at MTU.CSM will never fade. We played in so many orchestras and chamber groups together and had so much fun but our years playing as the Eudoxa String Quartet for me will hold images of a brilliant musician, who contributed so much in every way to the group.

Chamber music was your passion and you continued to play string quartets
until it was no longer possible.

Your dedication to your students in musicianship classes , cello and Piano will
always be remembered.

Farewell my friend,
Gone, but never forgotten.

Sincere condolences to all the O’Connor family on Carol’s untimely passing.

Very sorry to read that Miss O'Connor has passed away. She taught me music theory 40 years ago. She was a very nice lady, and a fine teacher who really had it - very knowledgeable, imparted and steadily built up knowledge well, and had huge patience. A fine cellist as well - I remember she showed us her cello one day and played Mancini's Pink Panther theme for us. R.I.P. Sincerest condolences to the O'Connor family.

Carol was a teacher in a million. She taught my brother 40 years ago and my daughter Merryn up until her retirement. Aged 7 and 8, Merryn was a reluctant cello student but Carol just had a way of turning things around, teaching outside of the box, bringing everything to life… and Merryn adored her. We all did. She will be sadly missed.

Like so many others I first knew Carol when I was growing up in CSM but when the Adult Youth Orchestra of Ireland started she was one of the first smiling faces I saw when I arrived at our first rehearsal. I loved getting to know Carol as an adult, especially in our Vibrato Vault apartment in UL in 2023. We had so many laughs together. She was always up for late night giggles and chats. I’m really going to miss seeing your smiling face in the front desk of cellos. Sleep well Carol xxx
I was very saddened to hear of Carol’s passing. Our paths first crossed over 40 years ago when she accompanied our choir in Turners Cross primary. We later played in CSMSO together and reconnected more recently through CFSO where she introduced us more senior members of the cello section to A3 copies of music, so that we could actually see the dots!! Carol, you were a fun loving, kind lady, a fabulous musician with an infectious laugh and will be sorely missed. May you rest now in peace x
My sincere condolences to Mary, Ray, Stephen and Kieran on the sad passing of your beloved Carol. May her beautiful soul rest in the peace of Christ.
Deepest condolences to Stephen, Annemarie and Emma on the passing of Carol. May she rest in peace. Thinking of you at this difficult time.
