Condolences and deepest sympathy to Caroline’s family and friends. I knew her and Rob Kennan from my time at Trinity College Dublin in the early 70s through the athletics team (DUHAC) and we met up a few times after leaving Trinity. Fondly remembered and sadly missed.

I didn’t know Caroline well having met her just briefly a few time in Rosmoney years ago but I was proud to know someone who had such a tremendous sense of right and justice and fought for it irrespective of the danger. The world needs more Carolines. Sincere condolences to all her family and friends.

I got to know Caroline at the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity vigils on Friday evenings at the Octagon. I always admired her quiet courage and commitment to making a stand for beleaguered Gaza - despite her own obvious pain when standing. A brave woman who led by example and will be much missed. RIP

Our deepest sympathies to Rob, Ndumi and the rest of Caroline/Nomvula’s family. I met her when she moved back to Carowholly from Africa, and we had many things in common, including a love for sailing. She had many spirited adventures as a girl! So very very sad to hear of her passing, a special soul lost from our community — but not forgotten.

Caroline. The original 'médecin sans frontières'. I first met Caroline in the Central Hospital Bulawayo where she was caring for my infant daughter Mandioneka. She had come from her contributions to the anti apartheid struggle in South Africa. Before returning to Ireland she worked as District Medical Officer in Esigodini in the province of Matabeleland.
She could never refuse to help at any hour anyone who called for her help, and was greatly missed in Zimbabwe.
Back home in Ireland, she worked with the asylum seekers in Athlone and fought relentlessly for a holistic approach to their wellbeing.
We remain with grest memories of numerous Christmases with you and Ndumi in Rosmoney.
Ar dhéis Dé go raibh d'ainm uasal Caroline
Ndumi, we are there always.
Lala ngokuthula Nomvula.

My sincerest condolences to Caroline's family and friends at this sad time. I knew Caroline through the Mayo Green Party for the last number of years. She was a committed environmentalist with a positive outlook and huge curiosity and empathy. She was a good listener and remembered small details about people, always asking after my children by name. I will miss her. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam

I got to know Caroline through meetings of the Mayo Greens. She was a committed member who made many positive contributions, especially to the policy committee. Her dedication to biodiversity, sustainability, and fairness was clear in everything she did. Caroline’s knowledge and integrity will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
