It was gut wrenching to hear of Cathal's passing. I participated in Cathal's monthly project meetings as part of his PhD in VistaMilk. I can only describe him as kind, diligent, smart and articulate; he was an active and reliable member of VistaMilk who always put up his hand to volunteer for extra work. He took on the project and really made it his own. The research he started is now bearing fruit and this will be his legacy. My thoughts are with Cathal and all his family and friends who will find it difficult to fill this void
