I am shocked and saddened to hear of Cathal's passing.

I met Cathal at an early age, and we became friends.
As time and life moved by, we would lose contact, although we always seemed to reconnect and continue where we left off.

We shared a massive love of music, and Cathal, of course, was a massive fan of U2 and many other artists, too numerous to mention.

It was always great to see him at the door, clutching his latest album purchase, so we could stick it on and give it a blast! Happy times.

I will remember him fondly.

I was deeply shocked and and saddened to hear about the passing of Cathal. Deepest condolences to Ann & Aine & all the Sweeney family at this difficult time remembering Dara and Shay.

I have great childhood memories of us growing up in Omeath.
Our mutual love of music and long nights watching videos of our favourite
bands in the house until the early hours never forgotten.

We always had a connection as his late Father Shay and my late Father Francis were both Headmasters in both schools in Omeath at the same time.

These great memories are in our hearts and will forever live on.
