So sorry to hear of the passing of Berna. Sincere sympathy to Barry, Peggy and extended Fennell family.
I was saddened to hear of the passing of our dear resident Berna.
Berna certainly lived out the scripture passage of 2 Timothy 4:7-8
7) You have fought the good fight, You have finished the race, You have kept the faith.
8) Now there is in store for You the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to You on that day — and not only to You, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
You are certainly now amongst the Angela's, Saint's and even Pope Francis himself.
On behalf of Myself, Highfield Healthcare & especially the unit staff of – Elmhurst/Desmond – I wish to offer our sincere condolences to you the family & friends on Berna's passing.

So very sad to hear of the passing of Bernadette. She was a good friend to us Oliver’s and part of the fabric of the family, always there with a welcoming smile and a chat and often a dog or two. I especially remember Ken, a gentle giant! Bernadette, a lovely kind lady has been there with us through thick and thin and will be sadly missed, especially by Dorothy. May she rest in peace.
Berna was a lovely Friendly Person. She will be missed greatly from Phibsboro. Gone to her Eternal Rest.

Sincere sympathies to Peggie, Barry and extended family as Berna has entered Eternal Life.
So many happy memories of chatting regularly to your kind and gentle sister and aunt since the early 1980’s.
Berna was a gentle and engaging lady who was always in good humour with a very welcoming smile. A dear friend of my Mother Rosaleen for almost 40 years.
Berna and my decreased Mother were together on the Committee of the Ladies Sodality for about 30 years. At the end of the monthly Friday afternoon and Sunday morning Sodality Masses, they used to tick off the names of the women present and collected their monetary contributions. After the Sunday Mass they would then stand at the Church side door chatting often for an hour. Throughout the 1990’s and early 2000’s, in the afternoons my Mother and Father walked along the pedestrian Odd Lamps Road in the Phoenix Park between the Áras and Ashtown Castle and regularly met Berna out walking her 2 dogs and the 3 would talk as they all walked along together.
Berna was part of the fabric of Saint Peter’s Church for most of her life including when Berna was a Minister of the Eucharist for many years.
No doubt the many happy memories you all have of Berna will give you strength at this sad time.
She certainly keep the faith to the very end and fought the good fight to the finish.
