My deepest sympathies to Martin, Stephen,David and Julie as you try to come to terms with the death of your dear Mam. She loved you to the moon and back ,she would go to the ends of the earth for you too. She also shared that love with the community of Lusk, and with Lusk N S in particular. The children and staff of the school were taken under her wing , she looked out for everyone . She was a wonderful SNA , so loving and supportive of the children she cared for, she forged a strong bond with every class teacher too.
Before she became an SNA she managed the school shop ,ran the school book rental scheme , collected school tour money for each teacher , counted and had it ready and enveloped for the tour date .She covered countless number of school library books over the years , doing this in her spare time at home . She was a remarkable woman , so strong , so gentle , so kind and loving. She will always have a place in my heart .

I will always remember her kindness, warmth, charm, and help during the Cross Country seasons and fond memories of watching you all grow immature and race during the Cross Country and track season. Martin, Stephen, David and Julie, we are so sad to hear of Catherine's passing. We have such fond memories of her from Orlynn Park and of course at Lusk AC.

When I think of Catherine, I think of a mama bear- so fiercely proud and protective, loving and supportive -firstly, of you all, her beloved family but that also extended to plenty of young lives that she touched in the community -at the school and the running club- including my own. And, she always gave the best bear hugs that just enveloped you with her love and her warmth.

Sincere condolences to all of Catherine’s family! I worked with Catherine for many years in Lusk NS and she was the mammy of the place!! She was a wonderful SNA who treated the children like her own!! She also watched out for all the staff, always a kind smile in the morning and checking in on everyone! She had the shop in the school where she guarded those pens and copies, you wouldn’t dare take one without her permission😊 I remember feeling sick one day in school and it was Catherine I went to find to look for a bit of sympathy! She was up for a laugh, great for the running tips and a woman of action! Nothing was too much trouble! She was a wonderful woman and touched many lives! May she rest in peace

I’m very sad to hear of Catherine’s passing. She was such a warm and caring presence in my childhood and always had a great big hug waiting for you. I have so many fond memories of her from holidaying in Wexford, to yelling at us to stop “messing” around, to standing in a wet fields cheering us on at cross country and her putting my hands under her armpits to warm up. Even though I live far away, and she had a very hard few years, she is always in my thoughts.
