🎼 As morning breaks the heaven on high, I lift my heavy load to the sky. Daylight come and we want to go home🎼

Betty you were one in a million, always smiling and our chats about gardening and travel were so special to me.
Your letters of encouragement and support during my illness kept me positive and your visits and treats always made me smile because you always had a beautiful smile.

I know we will meet again and that will be in the lavender fields just above the clouds.

THOSE WE HOLD MOST DEAR NEVER TRULY LEAVE US

ALAN

We were very saddened to hear of Betty's passing. Our sincerest condolences to all who new and loved her. May Betty Rest in peace.
Such lovely comments about our dear friend Betty. It is obvious that she was loved by many and will be missed by us all…
Her teaching friends and pupils meant so much to her.
I will never forget everything she has done for me and my two girls. Her support and encouragement and advise to keep going… no matter what.. will stay with me forever.
We had some lovely times together.. Betty was kind and generous and was always keen to celebrate things in our lives (but not so much her own). I have many lovely memories of Betty and they are all tinged with purple, lavender, laughter and maybe the odd glass of wine…
We will never forget you Betty 💜
Very sorry to hear of Betty's passing. She was a lovely person and a supportive colleague to younger teachers in the High School. My sincere sympathy to all her family and friends.
Betty was the wife of my younger cousin Neville,I left Ireland in 1965
I did meet Betty once or twice while visiting Ireland many years ago,I was not around for the wedding of Betty and Neville, and lost contact with Betty after Nevilles death.
My sister Zandra advised me of Bettys passing a couple of days ago. Reading the condolences here,I realize Neville had made a great choice in Betty.
I wish I had got to know her a great deal better

Lovely Betty. May your soul rest in peace. I met you through your best friend, Helen, and even though our get-togethers were few and far between I know how special you were to Helen. You are now at peace, with Neville and Kenneth.
As a follow upto my earlier message, I watched the short service streamed from the Victorian Chapel and I was moved by the words of Helen and Frieda and also 'We'll gather lilacs inthe Spring again'( one of my Dad's favourites) and 'Somewhere over the Rainbow' . On the day after the anniversary ofthe death of my own wife,Joan---I really felt that simple little Service so moving and beautiful.Thank you for the memories. Rest easy Betty. JimRyan Kilquade and the High School .

Rest in peace Betty. The Conboys were lucky to have you as an honorary part of our family. You lived an inspiring life, full of adventure and new experiences. Ever the easy going traveller, you never went anywhere without a sleeping bag on hand! You’ll be remembered for your kindness and generosity.
We were very sad to hear about Bettys passing. Our sincere condolences to everyone who knew and loved Betty, especially Jill and the Conboy families who will miss her dearly. Thinking of you all.
I’m so sorry to hear the sad news. Ms Davin was my geography teacher and I remember her classes very fondly. I went on to study Geography at University and often remembered and used phrases there that she had given us to use in exams. I find myself saying some of it to my eldest daughter who’s getting ready for Junior Cert this year
“Geography is coasts and rivers, mountains and lakes but sometimes it’s also just people”. She was a lovely teacher. My condolences to her loved ones. I’ll light a candle for her on Monday. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hAnam dílís.
Betty. You are my godmother, my namesake, and as good as a grandmother to me. I will remember you every time I smell lavender, every time I see a frog, and every time I travel to an exotic country. Thank you for being so supportive and encouraging throughout my life. We will miss you deeply. Love, always.
Betty was such a kind, generous and supportive colleague to young teachers like myself in High School. She had a fantastic smile and a ridiculous sense of humour. She told great stories of off-beat answers to geography exam questions such as ‘the continental shelf being where fish did their shopping’! Betty loved to travel and had a wealth of wisdom, knowledge and understanding about many corners of Ireland and the world. Especially the sunnier ones! I have very fond memories of last minute holidays to the sun when the exams and reports were finished in June. Whenever I see purple bougainvillea flowers I will think of Betty and miss her in our lives. Our sympathies and love to all her friends. Claire and Emmett, Saoirse, James and Daniel

I’m so sorry to hear of Betty’s passing. I remember the fun we all had in Conboy’s in Taunagh all those years ago. She was fun, great company and had the ability to brighten up any room with that lovely smile. May she rest in peace.
Rest in peace Betty, it was an absolute pleasure knowing you xx
Dearest Betty - happy memories always of our honorary 'sister' - from childhood in Dundalk to student days in Dublin, your wonderfully happy wedding day with us in Donegal Town, and many great holidays in Cahore. Always so appreciative, gentle and encouraging, I am sure your pupils loved you as much as we did. Rest in peace lovely friend - you will be so missed!
Betty began as a colleague and became a good friend. I will miss you.
May you rest in peace now.

I am writing on behalf of the school community to offer my sincere condolences following the death of Betty. I should like to extend our deepest sympathies to her extended family, friends, and colleagues.

We recall with pride and affection the contribution Betty made to the life of The High School during her long tenure as a member of staff. She taught Geography (as well as French and English) to generations of pupils between her appointment in 1980 and retirement in 2008. Her skills and abilities resulted in appointments to internal positions as Form Teacher (in which role she served for 21 years), Librarian, and Special Duties Teacher in 1998 as well as contributing to the extra-curricular programme through coaching swimming. She combined these professional commitments with a rich and varied range of personal interests including travel, gardening, walking, interior design and decoration, DIY, and sewing.

The High School has reason to be thankful that Betty chose to dedicate a significant proportion of her professional life to this institution where she is fondly remembered as a kindly and generous colleague. We remain grateful for her gentle and considerate example in engaging with the generations of staff, parents, and past pupils who mourn her loss to the school community. You may be assured that we will continue to keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers at The High School whilst wishing you every strength and comfort during the months and years ahead.
So sad that your journey on this life has ended Betty, you will be so missed by all the Conboy family and friends who got to know & love Betty over a lifetime.
I have such wonderful memories of every family occasion or celebration that Betty was always included in the fun and laughter.
Deepest sympathy

A kind and gentle lady.
Such a wonderful and kind teacher, we were lucky to have Mrs Davin as our form teacher all those years ago. Very fond and warm memories. Rest in peace Mrs Davin.
Betty was a lovely and very gentle person. To me and my wife in particular she was exceptional. She helped us start our lifes as a couple in Ireland back in the early nineties when things where quite different in Ireland and the country was only in its infancy of the modern country it has become today and when we most needed the support. Betty was always there for us, someone who has been part of our lifes forever. Someone whose heart has reached beyond the unimaginable, for us and many more who had the privilege to meet Betty. God rest her soul. Wonderful Betty, you will be missed so much.
Mrs. Davis was a truly inspiring teacher who left a lasting impact on so many of us. Her kindness, patience, and dedication will always be remembered. always ready with a warm smile and a word of encouragement. She had time for everyone and always knew how to help, no matter the problem. We feel so lucky to have known her and will always remember the care and kindness she showed us and so many others.

Our sincere condolences to her family and loved ones." - Vicky and Jamie
