I am very saddened to hear of Catherine’s death and offer my sincere sympathy to her husband. I have not met her in over 20 years but still recall her ever friendly cheerful self from days working in Irish Permanent. May she rest in peace.

Sincere sympathy to Cathys family.
I worked with Cathy in Harvest. I last saw her during the summer when she was covering for reception and we had a big hug as I had not seen her since before Lockdown. She was a very warm person with a big heart. She had such a great sense of humour. I was shocked and saddened by her passing as I was not aware she was sick. She will be missed by all her colleagues in Ballsbridge.

My deepest sympathies to Charlie, Gemma, Mary and Matthew and families. I am shocked and saddened to hear that such a beautiful lady has passed away. We were the "50" group in the Permanent in 1972. Catherine was so helpful, kind and friendly, and helped us all find our feet. It was the start of a long friendship through many years. She visited me in Australia some years ago and we had some craic ! I last saw her in Dublin in 2019, such a great night reminiscing. She was a beautiful, generous lady with the most gorgeous smile. Rest in peace with your Mam and Dad, Catherine. You will always be missed.

With deepest sadness I’ve learned of Darling Catherine passing. I still can’t believe it has happened. She was the very best Friend in the World you could have ever wished for.
I can consider myself to have been immensely lucky to have had her in my Life for the past 20 years, for guidance, companionship and as Mentor. She was of great help in most of all I did. A real Guarding and guiding Angel I’d be praying to. No exaggeration. Catherine was my very best Friend and literally every body’s Friend. Always there in the hour of need. She was very good, very attentive, caring, very compassionate, very humaine, charitable and especially in regard to me very patient. We spent truly wonderful times together here and abroad. No matter how small or big was what we’d accomplished, for us it was among the highest of achievements.
I could be writing endlessly about all the far too good things Cathy did and was in her Life. Now very sadly there won’t be anymore fantastic Sunday dinners and wonderful first class cakes and desserts.
Catherine, I thank you immensely for absolutely all you did for me in all those years. I will love you forever. You’ll be greatly missed and surely never forgotten. Catherine,my Fantasic and sweet very best Friend R. I. P. Your Italian/Irish best Friend, Ignazio De Maria.

Even though we eventually went our separate ways we all reconnected again in recent years happily picking up where we left off. I'll never forget the fun times and the laughs Catherine. Condolences to Charlie and Mary and all the Blackburn and Hussey family. To say my heart is broken is an understatement. The memories come flooding back of my first days in IP. Catherine was working with John Costello who was like Catherine's second dad, in the room we all shared which we christened Hawaii 50 because of the extension no.
The fun and wit of both of them was never ending and gave us young green beans a great welcome. Catherine was younger than us but already saving for a house to be with her beloved Charlie. In recent years we had a whatsapp group Hawaii 50 and had reconnected as life got in the way over the years . Unfortunately with Covid etc we cancelled plans to meet to my regret. Catherine say hello to Mattie you beloved Dad which we all loved also. Enjoy the rendavou!
