To Fran and family, I was so sad to hear of Kitty's passing. I remember Saturday nights so fondly in the Tribune - Kitty in the kitchen washing the dishes and having the chats while Fran was downstairs doing the bins and saying 'I think I am the only one doing any work around here". I loved our chats and the laughs on those long Saturday night shifts. Sleep well, Kitty.

Dear Fran, Alan, Trevor and Graeme, I am so sorry to hear about Kitty. Somehow we lost touch but I have never forgotten her, Fran and the three boys she was so proud of. Kitty and Fran were like extended family to many of us in The Sunday Tribune back in the day - a mixture of parents you wish you'd had and trauma counsellors! I was lucky enough to have dinner in your house in Finglas a few times and enjoy a few visits to Erin's Isle. I'd say mention of the Ebbs name saved me a few times around the flats in Pearse St too when I worked for a time at the St Andrew's Centre. Salt of the earth is a well-worn phrase but for me it is truly fitting - Kitty personified everything that was good about Dublin - craic and kindness. She will surely rest in peace. My thoughts are with you.

I was so sorry to hear this news today. Kitty was such a warm and kind presence in the Tribune offices. She always had time for a chat and a story.

When I remember my two stints in the Tribune, and all the happy times I had there, I always think of Kitty and of Fran. and I always will.

Such sad news of the passing of one iconic lady, a huge loss for Fran , Alan, Trevor ,Graham and extended family . A community in shock and the loss of a lady that was there for everyone one. as children we where delighted to arrive as there was nothing she didn’t have for us.
Kitty judged No one and loved everyone she met. It’s always so sad when the matriarch of the family is the first to pass thinking of you all at this very difficult time Many she rest in peace
