Charlie, you were as close as I will ever get to a (slightly errant) younger brother. I will certainly miss you just as much as if you were.
The world is a little less vibrant, a little less loud, and a lot less fun now that you are no longer around.
Many of the very best and most brilliant people are also slightly tortured souls, and I wish with every fibre of my being that I had been able to help you.
I love you, buddy. Godspeed to wherever you are, and I hope to see you again some day

Charles was the coolest of dudes. I owe him so much. His knowledge of music, literature, and cocktails kept me enlightened and lubricated in equal measure.
He was the very embodiment of style and sophistication. A master of the craic and the anecdote, always with something intelligent, curious and witty to say.
I’ve spent much of the past two months, a tear in my eye, thinking deeply about the joy and richness he brought into my life over so many years.
I am more of a person for his friendship.
Having the honour of Charles as Godfather to our son, Arthur, brought me immense joy. It was my small way of saying thank you. I wanted Arthur to grow up with the gift of Charlie in his life. What a privilege.
Charles—a beautiful boy—he was a gift to know and to love. My life, and the world, are better for him.
You are in my thoughts. I send you all my love and condolences.

I'm very sad to hear about Charles' passing. I only met him at the start of this year but I was struck by his magentism, charisma and open heart. He felt like an old, irreverent, close friend I'd known for decades, and I can't quite believe he's gone. I send my condolences and love to his family. Charles was a great man, who clearly loved life and adored people. I will be forever greatful for the kindness and generosity he showed to me, even though I'd only just met him. He will be missed.
Charles filled every room he entered with charm and an irrepressible zest to squeeze every drop of juice from life. Taken far too soon from us I'll miss to your laughter, outrageous stories and special spark. Deepest condolences to all of those whose lives will have been torn apart by this tragedy. May you be consoled by the words of the prophet, "Love is stronger than death". May you rest in peace, Charles, my friend. I hope you managed to blag a few extra mini bottles of spirits on your journey. I'll never board a plan without a memory of your shenanigans.
It is just so, so sad that Charles has been taken at such a young age.
My deepest condolences to you Maribel , Vincent and all the family.
I realised Charles was quite a character when even at a young age, maybe 6/7 when you as a family came to lunch. I think it was the day Vincent fell of his bike and ended up in A & E. Charles oozed such confidence with his braces and big smile. He was chatting away and then suddenly decided to jump into Francesca’s bed! It was so funny to see and marked him out as a real character. RIP Charles

So sad to hear this news. I have fond memories playing with Charles as a child and later working in Media. Sending my deepest condolences to Vincent, Maribel, and the rest of the family.
Charles was a gem of a person. I always loved bumping into him at old school reunions. His charm and presence were energising. He will be deeply missed. Sharing my love and condolences with his family.
Charles was a truly lovely man and a genuine gentleman. His friendly and enthusiastic nature, coupled with his charm and kindness, made him a joy to be around. Our connection as alumni of Sussex House school, a place he so dearly loved, brought us many happy memories. He will be profoundly missed by everyone who knew him. My heart goes out to his beautiful family, who are in my thoughts during this painful time.
Very sorry to read of Charlie's passing. We worked together many years ago in Thomas Pink on Dawson Street. God rest him.
So terribly sad at this news. Charles was like a bonus godson and was my 'charge' for a whole school year. We often reminisced about our wonderful mad weekend in Berlin when I took him to cabaret clubs and the opera! Though we were different generations, we became very dear friends and he was rarely long out of touch. His deep love for his children was clearly evident in the many photos of them which he'd send me - he was so proud of them. I loved his zest for life and his humour too - I mostly remember laughing and laughing with him for hours on end. Dear, kind, naughty, funny, outrageous, big-hearted and affectionate Charles, you will be very much missed and mourned.
Very sad to hear of the news of the recent passing of Charlie. He was such a lovely and engaging soul- and a great cook to boot. Always had a word for everyone and spoke with such love for his family. Gone too soon. We will keep you in our prayers,Charlie. -Sinéad (Trinity, Dublin)

Charlie was the most beautiful friend, with a magnetic energy that lit up every room. He loved bringing people together and had an undeniable charm, quick wit, and a sparkle in his eyes. A true cheeky chappy — outrageous at times — yet always full of charisma and a heart of gold.
He adored his family beyond words, and my heart breaks for their loss, for all of our loss.
I feel so grateful to have met him when we were just 14, and to hold such magical memories of our times together over the years. These moments will be cherished forever.
Sending so much love to the wonderful Slevin family. My thoughts are very much with you.

Iris and I offer our deepest condolences on your tragic loss. Our thoughts are with you in this sad and difficult time.
I'm so heartbroken to hear this tragic news about Charlie, who I remember fondly from living in London many moons ago. When he came to our flat most Friday evenings, the party (and the singsongs) would start. He was always the life and soul, wickedly funny, warm and gregarious. He was such a great lover of music and always talked so passionately and proudly about his home in Mayo, and of all his family and friends.
May he rest in peace and dance in the stars forever. So much love to all who loved him, to his siblings, parents and to Maeve and the children. I'm so sorry for your loss. Xxx

My family were deeply saddened when we heard about Charlie's passing. We have some wonderful memories of fun times together, most notably car trips from school up to London in our mid-late teens.
A shared interest in music (and the poetry of Jim Morrison and Leonard Cohen). He was undeniably cool. With a huge heart and plenty of soul, his passing is a huge loss to so many.
Our thoughts and prayers are for his family and closest friends at this time.

There are no words for the heartbreak of losing Charles. I grew up admiring his unmistakable charisma, unique style, and that glint of mischief in his eye. I feel lucky to have shared many special times in Charles’s company — from Hillside to those lively weekends in Prospect. My heart is with you all - young Charles and Ursula, Maeve, Maribel, Patch, Vince and Vincent as you navigate this unimaginable loss.
My sincerest condolences to Vincent Sr., Maribel, Vincent and Patrick.
I haven't seen much of Charles in recent years, I have very fond memories of him during our Hill House & school run days in the 1980s.
Charles always had a contagious energy about him, incredible charisma even as a young chap. Instantly likeable, and sincere.
His passing is a great loss to anyone fortunate to know him.
RIP Charlie.

I met Charlie one fabulous afternoon in my restaurant when he attended our annual London Irish rugby lunch. I knew then, that he would always be in my life. He had energy and charisma like no one I had ever met. He lit up the room.
He was a true gent, brilliantly dapper, and always armed with some incredible stories that only he could tell. He made me laugh a lot. He will be truly missed by all, he radiated life . A life I know and love with him as my friend
