Dear Valerie
I am very sad to hear about the passing of a very special and kind man. Charlie always made us feel so happy and positive after meeting him. My sisters and I have such happy memories of Charlie driving us in the big car when we were tots. He made us laugh so much! It was lovely always to meet with Charlie when we went to Clarendon Street with my late Dad Anthony Murray who had such admiration and respect for Charlie. Our best wishes and sympathy to you Valerie and all of Charlies family. Please take care. Anthony Murray and family

Condolences to Valerie and all the Mahony family on the passing of Charlie.
Charlie set a standard which all those in the chauffeur industry in Ireland tried to aspire to. His wealth of knowledge of both the history and geography of Ireland was second to none. He was a larger than life character and it was such a pleasure to have known him and worked with him for many years.
RIP Charlie.

It was with great sadness I learned of Charlie’s passing.
I offer my Deepest Sympathy to Valerie his wife, to Karen, Fintan, Ann Rose, Ciaran and Christopher on the passing of their father.
I first met Charlie in 1975, I always found him a perfect gentleman, a proud Dublin man and a expert chauffeur.
Charlie had a vast knowledge of all aspects of Irish history, local history regardless of which part of Ireland he found himself in at the time, and the ancient customs and traditions of our land which he shared with tourists and natives alike. He touch the lives of everyone he met with his great kindness, respect and good humour.
Good Speed Charlie May you Rest in Peace.

Valerie and all the O Mahony family; our sincere sympathy to you all. The week has begun on a very sad note on hearing of Charlies death. He was a ledged in the hospitality industry in the truest sense of the word. More importantly he was the definition of a Gentleman. A mentor to the chauffeur profession and to us in the many hotels he and his discerning guests visited. His excellence of service was at the top of what hospitality had to offer. His knowledge of Ireland and its culture was encyclopaedic. He offered to his guests the very best of our country in the brightest light possible. His impeccable presentation in chauffeur’s uniform atop the best polished shoes ever, will always stand out in my memory. We are grateful that his love of Kerry in particular, Killarney and Kenmare continued in retirement visiting and staying so many times. There are many happy memories to treasure and recall in the days ahead. May he, the man of great faith in God now receive the rewards of a life well lived and be united with all his family that have gone before him.

To Ciaran and the O’Mahony Family. Sorry to hear your loss of Charlie’s passing , I worked on jobs with Charlie for many years , he was very helpful and a kind man . May he rest in peace .
We were really saddened to hear the news of Charlies passing. We worked with him for many years and he was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He was always cheerful and had a smile on his face. He was the ultimate professional, we always got the sense that being a chauffeur was more like a vocation than a job for Charlie. He really loved it and all the clients that he drove loved him just as much. We often thought that the many tour clients that came back to Ireland year after year were doing so mainly because they enjoyed Charlie's company so much. He was a true mentor for many chauffeurs and a great friend to many. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. We would like to extend our deepest sympathy to Valerie and all of Charlie's family.
Sorry to hear of Charlie's passing. I never met him without leaving with a smile on my face. A true gentleman and legend

I was saddened to hear of the loss of Charlie, over the years I have known and worked with Charlie He filled our hearts with fun and laughter and taught us the only way to do the job was always the right way,he would say to me you will never be as good as your two uncle's and look at me with a cheeky grin on his face trying to get a reaction out of me, sometimes it worked. Please accept my Deepest Sympathy to you and all the family.

I am so sad that a great friend mine passed away. Charlie was a kind and loving person and a wonderful man. I knew Charlie for 60 years and he taught me everything about being a professional chauffeur. He was an expert on Irish culture and geography. I left Ireland 19 years ago and we remained great friends to this day. He is in heaven looking down on us, so for now God bless and we will meet again one day. May you rest in peace my dear friend.
