Got to meet Charlie on our daily visits to CastleManor between 2019-2023, inevitably sitting at the top of the stairs waiting for a chat , a most articulate, interesting ,knowledgeable man with a keen interest in current affairs who really appreciated the great care that he received from the staff and his family . Our sincere sympathy to John, our fellow Brabazon resident, and to Susan and Rob. Charlie was the most helpful neighbour one could have in the six years we lived in Butlersbridge from ‘91 to ‘96. We enjoyed an annual visit to Charlie over the last 30 years when, after a lunch in the Derrygara or Kilmore, we might take a drive even as far as the Lisnakea lakelands discussing everything from bees to trees to politics and the Bible. We will always remember Charlie’s closing comment in a debate - “Now, I’m seldom wrong”. And, I was just about to pencil in a date for our next meeting. Cherish the memories of good times.
