I'm so sorry and saddened to hear of Charlie's passing. I knew Charlie all my life as my father managed the Cellar Bar for many years and I worked in Dunnes when Charlie did all of their advertising signs. I have great memories of our chats in the canteen about all the 'old crew' from the bar.

Charlie was a regular at our Thursday evening few pints,a gentleman and a wit who's gentle warmth and smile will always stay with me.

I met Charlie in 1981, in The Cellar, and he was a gentleman in every sense. He did art design work for me that I still have. Absolutely shocked to hear this news. Hopefully when we can all gather again we can have a memorial. My deepest sympathies to all his family
